CLEindfan
I downloaded the mvp 06 mod about 4 days ago. We all know the problems with this mod.... pitch meter difficulty/ camera angles 6 and 6/1-6/5, and the stuttering. Let me start off by saying this mod looks great. but these problems seriously have me considering an uninstall and reinstall to the default 05 game. I've searched the forums and download sections for the last 3 days to find fixes to these problems, I've spent about 10 hours total looking for mods to correct these problems. I've used the search function and entered the following queries: maddiesdaddy, maddiesdaddy+datafile, ksm, ksm+datafile, hoopy, hoopy+sliders, pitch meter, pitch meter+fix, pitch meter+datafile, camera angles, camera angles+datafile, camera+fix. All with no results found. I finally found maddiesdaddy datafile. I downloaded it and couldn't figure out how to install it. I then moved the entire .rar file into my data folder. The game then would not load. I deleted the datafile and the game works again. Here is what I'm looking for, and I hope someone could be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I need the default pitch meter, I need the camera angles fixed, I need the stuttering stopped (I found a thread that linked to a post supposedly containing 1x jerseys, the link in the post was no where to be found, or it was dead.) I need detailed instructions on how to install datafiles ( most of the ones I've looked at have no instructions) I really like this mod, but these problems are frustrating me and ruining the enjoyment of this game. I would like to keep the 06 mod if I could but I am really really close to just scrapping it all and going back to default 05. Can anyone link me to the proper mods, or any other mods that enhance what the 06 mod already does? Can someone describe to me what the linked mods do exactly? I'm sure you recieve posts like this constantly so I really truely apologize, I've searched and searched this site for the answers to my own questions but I keep coming up empty. This is my last attempt to find the fixes I need, if this doesn't pan out I guess I'll just have to go back to the default 05, which i really don't want to do. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, maybe I'm an idiot, again I apologize. PLEASE help me. I'm like a lost puppy  P.S. I know my way around a computer, but am not the greatest computer mind known to man, I really want to avoid manually changing files and changing values on my own, so if there is a mod I can just donwload and install without having to change any files manually that would be great. again I thank you all and apologize for what I presume is a repeat thread. porkchop
You've only spent 10 hours getting mvp2005 to work like mvp 2005? Psh... amateur ;)
snepp
Your use of the word "need" goes a bit overboard. The pitching meter is not a "problem" in the 06 mod. Adjusting the pitch meter difficulty slider can put it at a nearly un-modded state. Stutter fix for the 06 mod: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Foru...p=215272#215272 A rar file is just like a zip file. You have to open it and extract the contents. Oh, and welcome to the board.

NCMALEN
Another thing that's really important: read the README files with downloads! You are on the right track with the datafiles, using the search function, etc. BUT every download is virtually self explanatory, and DON'T cut corners. Every download is basically unzipping a file, backing up an original file, place the download file in the correct folder, and saying "yes" to overwriting the original. The applies to just about everything EXCEPT datafiles, which are added to the data folder. As for the search function, select the "search for all terms" button. It seems to work for me. CLEindfan
OK, thanks for the attempt guys. but I have read those threads you linked me too before I came in here and asked the questions. I might be dumb, but I cannot find the link in them to download the files, the stutter fix only brings me too some classics forum with no link to a downloadable file. same with the link to the datafile. Maybe I'm missing something. (im clicking on the supposed link but i keep getting sent to the classics forum with no files to download? or i can't find the downloads if they are there) edit: On the pitch meter difficulty slider do I adjust it up or down? currently I have it at 50 and it's still too small. the green area is like / <---that big. I realize they did this on purpose to increase user walks, but now I miss my spots big time and am getting constantly rocked. By the 3rd inning I have no green area anymore and struggle to get my starters through 5 innings.
pfalvey
In order to download files at total-classics, you need to register and login. That's your problem.
benjio
i don't know if any of the mods for the MVP 06 upgrade will see this, but just wanted to make a few comments about the mod. First of all it's great, thanks for the hard work second i was wondering if there was any possible way to make these upgrades. I would love to see a hall of fame in mvp baseball- that would just make dynasty mode more enjoyable- also anyway to include lifetime stats for all players, that could be incorporated into the hall of fame segment. This way you could see how all players rank in numbers from pete rose to the joe schmoe rookie that comes along in 2006 well thanks again

I've also found the search engine on this and many other forums to be very touchy about searching for things. As for the "read the READ ME" comment, I have noticed that there are the occasional downloads on this site that do not include a read me. Sometimes the directions are on the download page itself or not at all.
CLEindfan
Ok, registering on the classics forum allowed me access to the files. So we are good on that front. Now, I am still unclear on how to use these datafiles. From what I understand you take the datafile you want to use and replace the old datafile.txt with it? Or I have heard that they are kinda like zip files? would you extract them to the folder that contains datafile.txt? or exactly where would you extract it too? and after extraction what is the next step? thanks for all the help so far guys i think I almost have this thing. just please bear with me a little longer. snepp
Datafile.txt goes directly in the "c:blahmvpblahdata" directory. There will not be a datafile.txt in that directory by default, so nothing to overwrite.
Rylo_c
hope i dont sound stupid but i just cant get the pitch meter back to the original size. I have used the installer (extracted from datafile-easy.rar) and installed to c:blahmvpblahdata" directory. This then gives me a frontend folder containing the INGAME.big file, and a datafile text doc in the data folder also. Nothing has changed in the game. If i try to open any of the two files with notepad it just gives me page after page of gobbledygook. Any ideas for what i need to do from here. I have searched (how i found this thread) but cannot find an answer to this question. Any help would be greatly appreciated :?
snepp
If you're using the install.exe from datafile-easy.rar then you need to tell it to extract directly to the main MVP folder.
Rylo_c
ok i've just done that. I'll start the game up and see how it goes. Thanks a billion
