maddux31
First off, modders and admin. Thank you. Thank you for showing more patience with very inconsiderate people, who come here thinking that someone owes them something. Of course we all are very excited about the "infamous mod' being released, but there's no reason why you owe us any kind of explanation as to it's release. I started this thread in response to a very recent post in the 06 Final answers thread. It seems that a member went on a terrible rant and rave, complaining about how he/she felt people were treated by the modders and admin. I feel grateful, grateful that you all would share your special modding abilities with everyone on this site, so do know (and I am sure you do) that these people are a very small portion of this community. Sure we all wish this mod was finished and released, but it will come out when it has been completed. As for the modders and admin. having an "attitude" I believe this is due to the lack of research and time people put into looking for their answers to their questions in regards to the release, I too along with many others would get annoyed if I was asked the same question that has been numerously discussed and posted for all to see. Thank you again, and don't let some impatient and inconsiderate people damper your mood towards others, and I know you won't!! Thanks again for this site and your work!! maddux31
Thanks! I just keep seeing them get slammed by a select few, and though it most likely doesn't bother them, it is very unfair to them and the other members who come here for a "r&r" atmosphere and enjoy the great threads and mods.! JoeyMcM93
Again, right out of my mouth. I have been wanting to say something to the modders and admins but I didn't want to get in to it with someone.

IloveJeter
Make a ->>>>>>>>Locked<<<<<<<<<<-- Sticky Thread With updates and current progress, maybe a faq . The search function of this site brings up hundreds of threads of people asking the same questions over and over for a reason. 1 spot for the most frequent questions, LOCKED, STICKED, should always be apart of a project like this. IloveJeter
There is a stickied thread...open your eyes and look. I won't even dignify your post with a link. I see two sticky threads on the same subject . Neither is locked. Neither acts as a good handy source of important updates and progress without a ton of time looking for it. If the answer to my question is burried between two threads of 38 pages of chaos , it's going to be very hard to look for the information I need. Not everyone is running on Cable internet either ,that just adds more time to the process on lower speed connections. Not everyone is a Internet wizard who is going to find what they are looking for even if they do try and put forth an effort to find it in that mess. And one that is locked is the one telling people to stop complaining and be more appreciative. I think the time making that thread, should have been put into something that will stop a percentage of the people from asking the same questions over and over , insted of yelling at them for doing so. Treating the symptom isn't the cure. Mod projects usually have dev journals or faqs, or atleast an organized spot where progess and updates can be accessed. This site does not there is nothing organized about the mess in those sticky theads. Sticky threads should contain important information everyone needs. If the Mods are having such a hard time with people asking questions and complaining about the lack of information, it's because the flow of information is distorted. Treating the symptom isn't the cure. Without starting an all out flame war, you have to understand the crap the admins and modders take. The worst part is, 99% of the time it is from noobs coming onto this site, just for this specific mod. Most of these "noobs" complaining, have not contributed one single quality post to this site, instead using their time to trash the admins, modders, and ask stupid *** questions, and demanding answers. I ask you, what gives them the right to demand this mod, or demand a release date...How long have some of them been here...scan the posts...most of the trouble makers joined this year, once they got a wiff of the beta, and have very low post counts. It's those guys that contribute nothing to this site, other then complaining about the mod not being out yet. I ask this, why should they even be given the chance to download the mod when it is done, and why should a thread be stickied for them?

I ask this, why should they even be given the chance to download the mod when it is done, and why should a thread be stickied for them? Why would this degenerate into a flame war? I'm not throwing out any insults at anyone. If I am saying something inflamatory I apologize. I am simply trying to help the mods of this site understand why they get these questions. It is incredibly difficult to find information on this site. Look at other mod sites as a template and you'll find it's much easier to access information. As for your statement DJ, People don't like to have things lorded over them. Doesn't matter if it is free or not. The communication breakdown has created antimosity between the mods and new members, to the point of xenophobia. Trying not to sound too redundant, but if moderation spent the time they do complaining about stupid questions and newbies making easier to access informations. It would be alot happier for everyone. There wouldn't be hurt feelings of unappreciation , and there wouldn't be contemp among members for having this modification lorded over them as if they are inferior. DJEagles
Again the only reason it is "lorded over them", is because they won't stop harassing the modders and admins. Rather then having to baby the "noobs" and cater to their needs, maybe they should follow what us veterans are doing on this site. We **** our mouths and wait for the mod to be done. We don't harass the modders with constant questions. This whole process would go a whole lot easier, if people wold join this site, sit back, relax, enjoy the beta and WAIT for the final, without constantly bombarding the forums with stupid questions and comments... This process would go alot easier if new members had some kind of logical starting point to access information on the mod. That would cut off alot of the negative environment right from the start. If the major problem is seen as the asking of stupid questions. Make so there is no excuse to be asking the stupid questions. As it stands now, I completely empathize with people who ask these stupid questions. People who get pissed at them for asking aren't helping the community either. Just like you think people should be greatful for having this mod, you should also be greatful people are intrested in it. Otherwise what would be the point in putting effort into something you don't want to share with others? Member Joins Site Can't find the information needed Asks what may be considered a stupid question Burnt out mod/member insults them new member is offended and attacks mod Mod wins, rinse wash repeat. Stickied , Locked, Faq/Dev Journal/Updates It is the most logical solution.
snepp
It's more like this..... 1. Member Joins Site 2. Doesn't bother to look for information 3. Asks what IS a stupid question because of #2 4. Burnt out mod/member has to repeat themselves for the 100th time 5. New member gets insulted and starts whining like a baby 6. Mod wins, cycle repeats Even a stickied/locked/faq/dev journal/update thread won't take care of it, there are too many people that will not bother to read it, or will read it and STILL post the same asinine questions and "gimme gimme gimme" comments. The problem goes far beyond a status thread. The problem is the gimme generation, instant gratification required or there's going to be hell to pay. The solution to this particular problem? Either get rid of the internet or quit reproducing entirely. :?
DJEagles
Amen Snepp. I get the feeling that regardless what we say, we are always going to have people who would rather challenge the process, rather then just realizing it will get done. we can type till our fingers hurt, and the noobs will still think we are wrong and they are right. Here is a quote from my little boy, which I think is appropriate: "Gimme, gimme never gets...don't you know your MANNERS YET?"
BrooklynNets24
Every Forum possible there is a new person joinging every day a new person aks a noob question mods or other members answer the question with attitude or with no attitude mods should have known this was gonna happen along with every other member whos been here for a long time. I think there should be a Newbie board that should be so they dont make so many threads would happen that **** people off.. Hell it worked at Gamespot.com

Now that thread is being used for some pretty good philosophical religious debate. The thread was about the inital post I made, nothing more. If I offended you or anyone else, I am man enough to apologize for it. If you are joking around with me, then don't take much I say seriously, as I like to have fun on this board. Dodgerone
Just to weigh in on what has been eloquently said, another solution might be don't pay too much attention to what others say who are uninformed about what's involved with putting a mod together and overseeing a site. People are going to do and say stupid things....we all do from time to time. Also, let there be no doubt that you folks that enhance this game that we have grown to enjoy are to be commended for your expertise and dedication! And everyone has to realize that there is more to life than just MVP Baseball. You folks do a great service to me and everyone else on this site in making my day(s) a little more tolerable, knowing that at some point in the day or week, I can loose myself for a brief time in my Dodger Dynasty on MVP Baseball! Again, thanks and when you finish the final mod, I'll be waiting patiently. :D
