stcardinal
Two of my players are upset over their playing time, complaining that I'm not playing them enough even though they are playing EVER game. How do I rectify this? Does batting order have anything to do with it? They are both 6,7 players.
aaronuconn
Well, if their contract says something like Situational, and you play him everyday, he could become upset. Or if he is a really good player, but only making like 500K. Sometimes they want $$$, sometimes they want different playing time. Just try to restructre their contract. stcardinal
Well so far I don't think it's a money issue since it says he's happy with his contract. They just want MORE playing time even though they are starting and playing almost daily. So it's confusing the heck out of me as to what they want. MarkB
Sometimes players will just be cranky for no apparent reason. It's a shame the game doesn't have an option for slapping the living crap out of the players.
myk13
correct me if im wrong but i THOUGHT i read that ty was trying to work on including something like this in his .dat exporter/importer program that deals with their attitude, i could be wrong though but i thought i saw that somewhere

stcardinal
Well, the players I'm having problems with are Feliz and Alou from the SF Giants. They are playing daily in their normal positions and are both hitting over .330 so I have no idea what's up their butt. My spot pitcher, Hennessey, who's now SP due to an injured SP (see my other post heh) is complaining about his play time too even though he's a starter now... neojonas
I've had troubles like this. What I found is once in awhile if one of my starters got injured for a long period of time, as soon as he came back he'd soon start complaining about his playing time. I'm guessing it may look at how many AB he has at that point in the season so since he was injured he didn't have as many AB. Ticks me off because it's not my fault the idiot got injured. Spivey11
I run into a lot of trouble with players getting mad if they get hurt and have to go on the DL. It frustrates me greatly because I'd be playing them if they weren't hurt and unable to play and they still get upset...
bigdaddy19
...You can't make everyone happy all the time. If a player gets really upset, I'll put them on the trade block. That seems to cheer them up a little and I might be able to deal them off for a player with a better attitude.
sfgiantsflgators
i fix it by turning team chemistry "off" and filtering out the emails dealing with player happiness if i can't hear them, it ain't happening
ixcuincle
I just ignore the complaints because a lot of them are just pure bullcrap. Some of them are warranted , i.e. when I forget a relief pitcher exists in my bullpen and he has to email me to remind me that he's still on the team. But some of them are just plain foolish , such as the time someone complained after I rested him for one day because he was tired.
cruecu
yeah, i don't even look at player happiness..how much does that really affect their play?
gomibako
I have the same problem, and from what I've found on this site is that players who have been injured and have an indispensible status on their contract, they will be unhappy the rest of the season. One way around that may be to offer them a different contract type - perhaps everyday or situational, or best of all is backup. In my O's dynasty, Miguel Tejada got hurt for like 60 days and I'm in the last series of the season and he's still unhappy. But I found that when the playoffs come and the next season starts, the happiness seems to be reset.
cybernetic
Yeah I had a problem like that with one of my AA players.. the guy got injured the first game of the season tearing his MCL and had to miss half the season. When he had like 30 days left on the DL it seemed that he was complaining about his playing time and it was because he's listed as AA indispensible. The worst is guys who are listed as everyday and bat low in the lineup but complain because they want to play higher in the order
