MVP '06 Final Release Thoughts

Ok, my turn to speak on this issue...

When I first came to this site and began downloading mods to the great game of MVP Baseball, I was highly impressed with what was done, and what could be done. And I was even more impressed when the MVP '06 Mod was released. I even made a post about it over at dynastymanager.com letting everyone that read my post know about this great new mod that was available for our beloved game.

I think a lot of the frustration comes from the fact that this mod is supposed to be for the '06 season, but the '06 season isn't getting any younger. The season is almost half gone, and there still isn't a final version of this mod released. I understand that these things take a tremendous ammount of time, effort and skill. I also understand that these guys/girls have a life outside of modding MVP. They have family, friends, work, wifes, and so forth and so on. But the thing that I don't understand with this whole process is some of the posts that I've seen recently stating that if you would just download a few things then you would have 99.9% of the final mod. But that the final mod won't be released untill December 6th. If we could just download these few things and have 99.9% of the final version, what in the world is taking so long to complete 0.1% of the final version? You're trying to tell me that will the talent that these guys have, it's going to take almost 6 months to complete 0.1% of this thing? I just don't understand that.

Also, in some of the posts about the final release of this mod, the ones asking the questions have been getting hit with "what have you ever contributed to this site" questions. While they may have contributed little or nothing in terms of mods, that may not be for a lack of trying. I know that personally myself I have attempted several times to seek out help in modding stadiums, uniforms, and things of that nature. The uniforms I did eventually figure out, but the stadiums are something that have given me fits for months now. And a lot of my questions have either gone completely unanswered, or I have gotten a response similar to I dont' have time to tell you how to do it, or figure it out yourself. I personally would love to be able to mod stadiums the way pirate does, or seano does, but I am having trouble figuring it out. And when I seek out help (not necessarily from them specifically) I don't get much help. And while I'm sure it does require a lot of guesswork to mod stadiums and they had to figure it out for themselves, getting a response to just figure it out myself doesn't help, and isn't that what a forum is for? When Ford made the model T car, do you think they took the attitude of "figure it out for yourself" when someone asked them about it? If they did we'd only be driving Ford cars.

But anyway, I'm just confused about the whole 99.9% statement, and that the final won't be released until December comment. Something just doesn't add up. And I can see where nyc is coming from on a lot of his issues in his crazy long rant in terms of modders attitudes. I'm not saying every modder has that attitude, but a few bad apples ruin it for everyone.

You know what buddy, by making the one millionth thread on this issue, you are just stirring up trouble Kraw, and the moddrs doe not owe you any kind of explanation. This mod is for the '06 season....if you can't wait, get off your lazy *** ,and download the mods individualy and mod the game yourself. You noobs are pathetic. What a joke. You guys can't just let the modders and testers do their jobs, you have to ***** the whole time they are doing it.

You know what, I believe the December 06 was said as sarcasim and out of frustration...use your brain next time before you post!
