jchorneau
I am playing All Star, with manual fielding and I go for a fly ball by controlling my outfielder into the position of the circle, now most of the time I can get the guy to catch it , but when the outfielder is at the warning track or near the wall this doesn't work, the ball just comes down and hits him...........it funny to watch if you're not involved to see Reggie Jackson or even Willie Mays get beaned by the ball when all he has to do is raise his glove to catch the friggin ball, but when you're battling your rival team in the bottom of the ninth, Willie Stargell gets up and hits a triple and wins the game all because of this stupid glitch, it is not so funny..........or maybe it's not stupid because I missed something. Anybody have any suggestions?
snepp
Sounds like you may have catch circle assist turned off.
jchorneau
no, actually it's turned on, but just out of curiosity why would that help to have it on?
snepp
It has the players adjust on their own in the circle to get in better position to make the catch. Are you using Manual or MVP fielding? (never used mvp myself)
jchorneau
It's manual, I tried MVP fielding for a game and thought I would better improve with manual, because I need that circle assist to tell me where the firiggin ball went. Sometimes the ball gets hit to the outfield and I don't see which player to move. I just figure if it's hit to left, the left fielder is supposed to get it, (makes sense), but sometimes the manual setting programed it so the other fielder is supposed to go for it, (for that section of the field), eventually causing me to allow a hit, sometimes a triple if I can't catch it in time, since the ball goes to the wall. I am not sure about this and that why I posted this thread, hoping someone might know about it. I know there's a thread about the issue of manual and people have been saying either go with assisted or MVP, but I like manual, only these darn glitches. I wiish there was something I could do. My above problem, I think might be caused by me adjusting the sliders for User outfileld (and infield), to a max speed of 50, and my CPU is too slow to react when I move the controller. I 've got one of those celeron CPU, clocked up, to sell as "fast" processoer, but it's really a clunker.
cybernetic
I hate manual fielding.. I move the guy in position and the guy won't handle it it just goes past him. It's very annoying so I play on assisted fielding and will throw it and everything just not move in position. I find if I play on full automatic the CPU will go for the easy play all the time as far as throwing it in and I get a lot of runs scored on short flyballs. The CPU will also throw to 3rd for no reason on doubles. They don't throw to 2nd to cut off players from a double either.
DustinTheWin
I used to play on assisted but you lose so much of the game when you are not playing the field
