gowingsgo8803
Hey. Just wondering, is it possible to play MVP on a restored window/split screen rather than fullscreen?
JoeyMcM93
I don't think so, but maybe.
gowingsgo8803
btw...i just read the message soomewhere about swaping managers in Dynasty...is it possible to edit players attributes through the same folder? i found all the players names, but i'm not sure what the numbers mean...an answer would be much appreciated
gowingsgo8803
thanks JoeyMcM93...my friend told me it was possible if you right click and change the target on the .exe file, but that solved nothing...the reason being is that i found a bunch of player edits that i want to put into the game...on microsoft word, size 5 font, and quadruple columns per page, its 69 pages long, hence, i cant print it

tywiggins
does anyone know how to edit players through the registry in C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005datadatabaseattrib ? (assuming a restored window is impossible) MVPEdit is the easiest way to edit players. (After you read and understand how to use it) http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Foru...ewtopic&t=12410 If you really do want to edit the attrib.dat file manually, let me know. I know quite a bit about the .dat files from my work on my .dat exporter and importer programs. You probably want to edit more than attrib.file anyways. The rhattrib.dat, and the lhattrib.dat have the batting Ratings. The pitcher.dat has the pitching Ratings.

gowingsgo8803
wow. MVP Edit looks absolutely ridiculous, but I'm havng trouble with it already. I have a saved roster, its a .SAV file. (C:Documents and SettingsmarcMy DocumentsMVP Baseball 2005). MVP Edit doesn't recognize it, so when i go to save the .mbe file, it starts a new file without my previous edits

It creates the .dat files from the information in the games memory. Then you can import these .dat files into MVPEdit. Then to get them back into the game use my importer. http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Foru...ewtopic&t=19322
gowingsgo8803
the stuff is working, but not really. I downloaded the .NET Framework, then the Importer/Exporter. I let it do its thing, and it found a bunch of .DAT files in the game. I opened up MVP edit, and clicked import, and the directory where i have the newly imported files, and it doesnt recognize it. if it means anything, im stuck on step 5 of the MVP import/export readme. *frustration* help again (sorry) go cardinals go

gowingsgo8803
ya, but my previous saved rosters arent displayed in this list, ie// jon dowd to barry bonds, aj burnett on TOR, etc.

The .dat exporter will export the players that are on your current rosters. If you load a dynasty save that has Jon Dowd, then the .dat exporter will export Jon Dowd. If you load a dynasty save that has Barry Bonds, then the .dat exporter will export Barry Bonds.
gowingsgo8803
alright, my bad. Ill see if i can explain better. pop in the cd, loads. manage rosters, load rosters, load successful. i alt+tab out of mvp, start up mvp exporter, pulls back 33 files. open up MVP edit, file, import, and the directory those 33 files are in. nothing is there (empty folder). go back into MVP edit, save a .mbe file, and it loads up with the MVP 05 default rosters, rather than my saved rosters. it has jon dowd, benji molina with the halos, and unedited guys that i had tampered with, rather than barry bonds, an updated blue birds team, and re-edited players, which is saved as my rosters in the game. when i click file-> import, and the directory that pulled the 33 files in, the folder in the window is empty, despite their being 33 files there. these 33 files are .DAT files, and are not recognized by MVP edit. i can GUARANTEE that this is a problem on my side, without question, i just have no idea where i went wrong, how to correct it, or what i need to do to get it right. i followed the readme to the letter, and read both FAQs, and i'm still lost beyond belief

gowingsgo8803
alright. I created PLAYER A, and made him perfect. I opened mvp, and under the FA list, PLAYER A leads the way. this is automatically starting up MVP, hence, default rosters. I load my saved ones, Rosters.SAV, and behold, he doesnt exist...after deleting him on MVP edit, he remains in the game the MVP edit worked for the default rosters, but i want to edit my saved ones, which it doesnt seem to do

The game looks for the .dat files in the C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005datadatabase folder.

When you first start MVP2005, are you loading the dynasty or just using the manage rosters feature from the main menu? From your post, it sounds like just the manage rosters. If that's the case, you need to load your dynasty and then alt-tab out of MVP.
