storcka9
I would have liked to see Edmonton because of Sergei Samsonov, but it is still nice to see an Eastern team win. Congrats to the Canes!
cybernetic
Yeah it was a pretty good game.. Carolina just seemed like from the beginning that they wanted it more than Edmonton and took it

nanner
Carolina smothered them tonight. Edmonton didn't get any chances at all. Great job by the Canes, they deserved it. As for the Oilers, what a co#%tease to come back from a 3-1 defecit and lose. That hurts.
ixcuincle
congratulations...I always love watching the postgame stanley cup ceremonies with the handshakes and the players skating with the cup around the ice :)

nanner
huh? An Eastern team has won in like every year besides the Wings in the last while. (Lightning, Devils, etc.) Wings should be Eastern anyways.
fred13
There was an article I read that says that one by one after a Canadian team is eliminated from the playoffs, the entire country begins to rally around the ones left, and its very evident if you look around in Toronto. Does the same thing happen in the states or do you guys only cheer for your local teams.

I mean yeah, people around here were cheering for the canes to win, but it doesn't really matter. Around here, if your a Rangers fan, you want to see the Devils and Isles fail, same goes for every team around here. That could be just here though. All I know is that you wouldn't catch me wearing anything other than a Rangers jersey.
nanner
3??? lol There is 6. Vancouver Canucks Edmonton Oilers Calgary Flames Toronto Maple Leafs (The Yankees of hockey, except they don't win) Montreal Canadiens Ottawa Senators
nanner
In Canada, a Leaf fan would never cheer for the Sens. A Flames fan would never cheer for the Oilers, and vise versa. But generally Canadians cheer for their own countries teams when they aren't huge rivals like the Leafs and Sens are, or Flames and Oilers. NYM
I'm so happy the Whalers are gone. Jeez, they used to beat up the Rangers like it was nobodies buisness.
