MOD/DataFile (or edit) with tougher pitching?

A long while back I had a MOD that made the pitching much more difficult, but I don't know which it was now. I have recently installed ROD4 with some good sliders and I am pretty darn happy, except I wish the pitching meter was more touchy (smaller green). Does anyone know which file that is, or ACTUALLY, what to edit in my current file to get this effect?

You can reduce the pitch meter green area by going into the "player edit" section...This has to be done on an individual pitcher basis but the green area will reduce dramatically by setting the "control" of the specific pitch to the mid 30s or lower.

This may not be the specific answer to your question but this does allow you to manually reduce the green area by each pitch of each pitcher.....However, it is a long process if you want to reduce the green area for every pitcher in the program.

you could also use global edit in MVPedit.

I will try the MVPEdit, but does that work for inside of the Dynasty area? I thought those rosters were locked from MVPEdit...maybe I am wrong.

yeah, you would have to start your dynasty over.

I tried an experiment by editing one pitcher's control on each pitch by -30, one to as low as 24, but saw NO change....any ideas? I know there is a datafile with this feature as I used to use it, but I just want to add this feature to the current datafile I am using.

Hmm...That's interesting. I know reducing the control number does reduce the green area with the user pitcher. However, I have not tried to adjust control with a CPU pitcher.

So I assume you are in a Dynasty trying to change the control of a CPU pitcher...Well, Bummer!

No, this was with a user pitcher. I am goign to try it in a more extreme fashion, but I really didn't see any difference. I threw a CG shutout with the guy.

value 122 under batter pitcher i think affects how far the ball goes off target if you miss the accuracybar...

i put that up to an insane ammount and anything that wasnt right in the middle of the bar (even hitting the edge of the bar) would come up as a big X or even worse, a meatball

so find a value that works for you there would be a start

Cool, I am going to try some of that, BUT, I am not sure how to unpack or decompress the datafile. I have the gfxpak, but I don't know how to use it. The datafile.txt is jibberish right now....any help?

Go to Snepp's Mod page, he has all the utilities you need to decompress the file so you can edit it.

I posted a link around here somewhere for RobMac... look for his post and my reply.
