I apologize for the stern title of this topic, but upon the release of the beta edition of this mod, there have been almost thousands of topics relating to this download, specifically the release date of the MVP 06 mod. As a modder who is actively participating in this mod, it is best recommended to download the MVP06: In Like Flint Edition mod (Livin' Large is too big of a file, and it will strain the servers, however both are the same) and the updates provided by krawhitham, who would most likely provide a list.

I'd like for this topic to be stickied, announced, bulletined, any sort of standout-esque action, and for every single newcomer that was lured into this site via the MVP 06 mod to take a look at this. Maybe upon reading the other stickied topics it would best answer your questions, because personally I am disgusted by the amount of hate filled posts in this forum.

As a modder, I'd like to let all of you leechers, members, staff, posters, lurkers, and admins know that we do all of this for you all. We don't get paid jack squat for none of the work that we do, so it does not grant you the right to rush our work, or to openly disrespect our work for no apparent reason whatsoever. Indirectly, we make this site what it is, and we are a part of the reason why people come to visit this site. We don't seem to meet deadlines because nobody is paying us for our efforts, and aside from that, we all have personal lives to tend to, as we are not robots. The effort, the man-hours, the time spent that every modder involved in this project puts out toward it should equal the amount of praise and respect each of you all should put out toward the people who make this mod what it is.

Also, we cannot stress this enough. Please, please use the forum's search feature to avoid repeated topics and existing discussions. Over the past few days, there have been many posts and topics that have been already discussed, such as the MVP 06 mod release date, refresh rate issues (which have been solved in the Tech Talk forum), datafile issues, roster issues, cyberfaces not working, etc. All veterans and existing members have all been directed to the search link, and have been met with harsh replies. As kraw had said:

When searching

Use the MAGIC setting

I would also recommend reading the rules of the road, also known as the site rules and regulations. There may have been many posts in which claim that the administrators have some sort of favoritism towards the veteran posters. That's not to say that veteran posters were all saints. We messed up also, but we knew and still know our place on the site. We're not mods, and contrary to popular belief, we don't try to be.

When will the MVP06 mod finally come out?

As with any major release of any update, there has to be extensive beta testing and other sorts of adjustments to make sure the mod is safe enough to be released, if not, released with as fewer bugs as possible. What I would do, as a member who just recently downloaded this mod? I would consider finding stadium updates, as well as current roster updates starting from the 06 Beta cutoff date (somewhere around february). I would also consider downloading recent uniform packs (lol just had to plug this in here), as well as recent cyberfaces. Basically what I'm trying to get at is basic mods that were included in this package, but updated past the cutoff date.

In a sense, think of it as Windows, with all the "critical updates" downloaded seperately, and the MLB 06 final version being the almighty "Service Pack"...

What will be updated in the complete mod?

Updated stadiums past the date of the beta version

Updated player portraits

Updated uniforms

Updated rosters

Updated gameplay mods (datafiles and progression)

Updated overlays

We can only modify the game so much, so the technical stuff is out of the question i.e. better graphics, better stadiums, new game modes, etc. Unless as Kraw stated in an earlier post, you are able to give us some source code to edit the game and make it geared to how you want it to be.

What's wrong with my datafile?

See the Official Issues thread. It's there for a reason.

Until then, I've got tons more to post, but I'll let all you guys continue with the questions. I hope I cleared the air on all of this "beef" on this site.

Cheers,

-KC

Fantastic post KC. Thank you. This was a very helpful and informative post for anyone with questions about this mod. Now more than ever there should be no questions about when this mod is coming out from anyone. Thank you again.

Although I would never do it, because I love what you guys/gals do and the game would be dull without it, it kind of does give everyone the right to "bash" or express their opinion towards a download if that download is offered to the public. Sure one doesn't have to download it and could probably keep their mouth shut, but if this is an open forum like I believe it was at one time, then everyone has the right to state their disgust towards a download. Those who usually feel as though they are above everyone else are the ones who can't take criticism. Some I will admit as well go way to far, and should be thankful. Some downloads even say "let me know what you think".

Just my two cents-yell, scream at me, ban me, don't answer my posts because I don't donate, whatever because you will have then proven my point.

There is a difference between constructive criticism, and being an ignorant fool.

Anyway, this is not the place for this particular conversation, so I recommend that anyone who wishes to continue it, do so in another thread, or through PM's (myself included).

So according to your logic, if I were to create a stadium, and it was good enough for me to release it, you'd have the right to take a dump on my work and say it's a piece of crap because you don't like it? If someone doesn't like a mod that has been released, simply don't download it. It's not that hard, really, as it is your choice. It's that simple.

Gentlemen, there is a difference between "Good Job, however this needs to be fixed/you missed this part etc etc" and "What the heck is this? It's ugly, I don't like it, I'm not downloading it, it's horrible. Yuck."

That's the point I'm trying to make.

Yes, yes, KC, this is all good and well, but when will the 06 mod be released?

And why doesn't my datafile work!?

Rabble, rabble, rabble...

I should smack you with the BAN hammer,

This thread has taken the wrong course for the purpose of what KC wanted this for. So, in order for everyone to understand what is trying to be expressed here, this thread is locked. KC said it best. Read it and understand it.
