MVP Owner's mode

Hi All,

I've been gone for a while overseas (ok, 3 G. Bush wholesome years) and have come back looking to play the most up to date bbsim for the PC. While I was over there, I only had HH2003 and updated it manually for 2 years following online stats. Needless to say, that got boring when all your minor leaguers start popping up with the last name Bonds. PS, HH was the best game ever on PC if you mix arcade and stat management.

Anywho, I got back and found out that no games are being written for the PC this or next year due to Steinbrunner and his little cadre that make no money. So I bought MVP 2005 and downloaded the 2006 roster from your site. I have never played the game as sold, but only with the downloaded rosters. Therefore, I can never ***** about the strike zone, whether ARod wears a diaper, or Ortiz really weighs 250. So far, nothing but excellent!!!!! I love it.

Wow, long story, sorry. So recently I have been playing the game in owner mode. I have figured out most of it in terms of making money. My question is how do you turn a friggin profit on your concession stands or stores. I have lowered prices and volume went up a smidge, but profits sucked. I have raised the prices and volume plummetted and ergo prices. Is it possible to make money on this part of the game? I am doing great adjusting ticket prices.

A lot of it has to do w/how many people are coming to your games. If only 10,000 people show up then you probably won't turn a profit in the concession part of the game. I got sick of trying to make money and not doing it quickly enough and only having a 10000 seat stadium, so I used Art Money to give me some cash to make my stadium a real one (seating wise)

I have figured out how to make money in this game already. It is just adjusting ticket prices to value games. I want to make more though so I can pay for my big guys. At this point with my team, 3rd year, I have a seating capacity of 33,000. I have 91% overall attendence. I have bought all the mods that make your fans happy such as a pitch and play, nursery, and hormone injection booth. I guess my problem is this. You charge $4 for hotdogs, you sell 30%. So you knock it down to $3 and yousell 32%. Then you get super frustrated and make them $1. Guess what? your volume goes to 33% and your profits go to *****. I am protracting this over 2 months of course. All I know is that I am making jack squat and this part of the game is useless. Just set a price and let it rip. Never upgrade it since you cant sell the first 10,000 weenies anyway.
