jelyman
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I recently reinstalled the game and I went to play it, but for some reason, I cant move my fielders (when they dont have the ball). Instead, they just either dive or jump (usually dive). Neither analog stick or the D-Pad will do anything different. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks for your time.
snepp
What controller are you using? You need to post the gamepad section of your controller.cfg file (it's located in the mydocs/mvpbaseball2004/ directory.
jelyman
I'm using a TESUN controller that I bought off ebay (from Hong Kong... a friend recommended it as being cheap and reliable.) My controller.cfg looks like this: profile= USB_Vibration_Joystick device= USB_Vibration_Joystick player= 1 number_of_buttons= 12 number_of_povs= 1 number_of_axis= 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_START= button 10 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SELECT= button 9 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CROSS= button 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CRICLE= button 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SQUARE= button 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_TRIANGLE= button 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L1= button 7 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R1= button 8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L2= button 5 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R2= button 6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L3= button 11 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= button 12 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_UP= pov0 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_DOWN= pov180 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_LEFT= pov270 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_RIGHT= pov90 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_UP= axis+ 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_DOWN= axis- 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= axis+ 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= axis- 3 VPAD_PITCH_1= button 3 VPAD_PITCH_2= button 2 VPAD_PITCH_3= button 4 VPAD_PITCH_4= button 1 VPAD_PITCH_5= button 6 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_FIRST= button 2 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_SECOND= button 1 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_THIRD= button 4 VPAD_PITCH_OUT= button 3 VPAD_DEFENSIVE_ALIGNMENT_OPEN= button 11 VPAD_THROW_BALL= not_assigned -1 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_WALK= button 12 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_HITBATTER= button 9 VPAD_PITCH_HISTORY_OPEN= button 6 VPAD_SWING_NORMAL= button 3 VPAD_SWING_BUNT= button 12 VPAD_CHARGE_MOUND= button 2 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_FIRST= button 2 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_SECOND= button 1 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_THIRD= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_HOME= button 3 VPAD_FIELD_SWITCH= button 7 VPAD_FIELD_CUTOFF_THROW= button 8 VPAD_FIELD_FAKE_RUNDOWN_THROW= button 8 VPAD_RUNNER_FIRST_SELECT= button 2 VPAD_RUNNER_SECOND_SELECT= button 1 VPAD_RUNNER_THIRD_SELECT= button 4 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNFIRST= pov90 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNSECOND= pov0 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNTHIRD= pov270 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNHOME2SCORE= pov180 1 VPAD_BASERUNNER_ADVANCEALL= button 5 VPAD_BASERUNNER_RETREATALL= button 6 VPAD_RUNNER_STOP_SELECTED= button 7 VPAD_RUNNER_STOP_ALL= button 8 Thanks. snepp
Is fielding set to manual? Do the analog sticks work properly in the control panel configuration program? I don't see anything that would be wrong with your config (unless I'm missing something).
Kamasutra
yours: VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= axis+ 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= axis- 3 Mine: VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= axis+ 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= axis- 4 inverted...this fixes the right stick.. Also in profiles, to fix your left stick, try the P880 Saitek profile, even if that's not your controller... or edit the file manually to use the Saitek: profile= Saitek_P880_Pad device= Saitek_P880_Pad player= 1 number_of_buttons= 12 number_of_povs= 1 number_of_axis=
jelyman
The controls work fine in the configuration part. The inversion on the right stick didnt change anything, and the controller has 12 buttons so the game wouldnt accpet it as a substitute for the Saitekp880. Any other ideas? This is really frustrating. When I have the ball its fine. But I cant get the ball because all they do is just jump and dive.
snepp
Do all of your baserunners slide all of the time as well?

snepp
Sounds like your right analog stick isn't calibrated. Did you do that in the control panel?
