Jim825 Posted June 23, 2006 Share Posted June 23, 2006 Simply extract the datafile.txt file to your MVP Baseball 2005 data folder. The "best" datafile is the one that works best for you. I know it's not the answer you are looking for, but picking the best datafile is like picking the best song or best ice cream flavor. What I like, you may not like. What you like, I may not like. The only way to know for sure is to try a number of them for a while until you find one you like. You need more than one game to get the feel for a datafile. Be aware that you may also have to make some slider adjustments to get the datafile to work the way you like. Maybe I am searching wrong, but I did search. I know there have been posts before on datafiles, i've read them. I tried to go back to the forums to find where I read them, but couldn't find it and that's when I used the search which resulted in nothing. Again maybe I searched incorrectly, but I did search. The search engine here is good but it's not Google or Ask.com Also....did you actually type "istalling" rather than "installing"....type-o's in a search engine are no good. Next time type something as simple as "datafile install" and you'll get 255 hits. The thread on my datafile has at least two rounds of asking and answering this question. Put the datafile.txt into your MVPdata folder. Forget the datadatafile folder, just put it in the data folder. If I perform the exact same search in community forums I get 664 hits. That might be the problem.
