OleEnglishD
Has anyone seen this doc? I am watching it right now on free speech tv. Plot Outline: The film follows Micheal Moore's controversial decision to speak at the Utah Valley State College, where a heated debate between protestors and supporters argue Moore's First Amendment freedom of speech rights. MarkB
Sounds interesting. From what I've seen of him, Moore's somewhat of a controversial figure, but he speaks his mind. Need to see if I can find that somewhere.
OleEnglishD
It is a very interesting film so far (I'm not all the way to the end). It covers alot of bases such as free speech, division between liberals and republicans, and the influence of the Morman religion in Utah's society. There are some pretty interesting lines in the movie as well such as one guy saying that he doesn't want Moore to come because he does not want him to spread hate and evil into their community which I personally think is a touch much. ELDoro
I would agree that all Moore does is spread hate. He is constantly criticizing and bashing everyone but never offers ideas on ways to improve nor do I really think he wants anything improved.... because then he would have nothing to rant about. He is anti-Bush and was anti-Clinton .... he would have jumped on Kerry's back soon after supporting him. However, the worst part about Michael Moore is he flat out decives and lies in his so called documentaries. He simply makes up facts and gets away with it. If your willing to watch one of his movies I would please ask you watch the movies people have created in retaliation to Moore's crap. They quickly make him look foolish. Almost as foolish as Madonna for supporting him.

Sean O
I would agree that all Moore does is spread hate. You are correct, anyone who you do not agree with is just spreading hate. He is constantly criticizing and bashing everyone but never offers ideas on ways to improve nor do I really think he wants anything improved.... because then he would have nothing to rant about. And yes, I am also positive that Moore wants nothing to ever get better, because that would fly in the face of his utter hatred of all living creatures. He is anti-Bush So is anyone who is in touch with reality. and was anti-Clinton .... He was critical of the administration, he isn't outright anti-Clinton. Check the facts. he would have jumped on Kerry's back soon after supporting him. You mean when he started breaking his campaign promises and toadied to the republicans? You're damn right he would have. However, the worst part about Michael Moore is he flat out decives and lies in his so called documentaries. He simply makes up facts and gets away with it. Or, you could do some research and see where he gets his statements. I'm not saying he's unimpeachable, but it's not like he's made up everything about his movies. If your [sp] willing to watch one of his movies I would please ask you watch the movies people have created in retaliation to Moore's crap. That's hilarious. Do you read what you write? You say that all Moore does is spread hate, and you're suggesting people watch a movie made by people who hate Moore, who have as little factual basis for all of their claims? Do you realize how hypocritical you are? They quickly make him look foolish. ...If you already agree with what they're saying. Almost as foolish as Madonna for supporting him. Ho ho ho, aren't you witty. Tell me, what are your thoughts on Ann Coulter, the woman who suggested blowing up the New York Times building? Applejak
Touche... Not really. I thought it was pretty well known that Moore is more interested in self-publicising, than the truth, or even any of his docs. If you want the truth look on teh net. The sad fact is that Moore himself gets in the way of his own stories. The truth is interesting enough, withut him skewing it even more and doing exactly what he criticizes. If you want lies listen to teh government. if you want some more (but from a different angle) watch Michael Moore.
Filthy57
Now I don't know who to listen to, SeanO with his long-winded explanation, Tribe with his ytmnd or the guy who can't spell the word "the."

The_Jerk
I didn't know it was possible to watch that kind of film and not remember it. And that film asks more questions than provides answers, so I'm not sure what you mean by 'lies.'
xman
Bowling for Columbine, while still slanted of course, was the least political of his recent major releases. You have to be pro-gun control to like it. I agree with most of it (I find it funny how many NRA types who say the Constitution is non-negotiable are in favor of the Patriot Act, which irrefutably limits your constitutional rights, justified or not). That said I support your right to own a licensed gun, though I think there should be more requirements about how to obtain a licence and I think we should require all guns to be either locked in a safe loaded or stored unloaded with the ammo locked away. In my own town their was a kid who got shot in the head by his friend accidentally while playing with a loaded gun - he barely survived and may never regain full function of his body. The gun lobby would say they were just being stupid (both the kids and the parents). Sure they were! But people will be stupid and that doesn't make these kinds of tragedies OK. Legislatures have the power to enact laws to protect citizens from their own stupidity and they should use it. Many people would be too lazy to install a safe if there was no law requiring it. OleEnglishD
Ann Coulter, the woman who suggested blowing up the New York Times building? How about what she said about the wives of 9-11 victims calling them witches and saying that their husbands were probably gonna leave them anyways.
