Fastflink2009
With fair trades on in my dynasty they reject every trade, even if it is within their budget and definately better for them. For example i tried to trade Jake Peavy for some no name catcher, they still had tons of budget money left and they still rejected it. They won't trade at all!!!! Any suggestions, comments, or similar problems?
meteamo
If you aren't far into your dynasty and before you start a new one, modify the rosters and do the trading when the computer can't reject them.
Fastflink2009
well i can still turn fair trades off and they trade but it takes the fun out of it
tywiggins
well i can still turn fair trades off and they trade but it takes the fun out of it From my experience, in dynasty mode, the cpu will not accept any trade offer where they would take on any additional salary. If the total salaries for the players being traded is really close, you can try to add one of their worst minor league players to the deal. If it's a good deal, and the cpu team's total salary will go down, they will accept the deal. (I don't remember whether or not the cpu will accept trades where the total salaries for the players are identical) Here is what I have done in the past: 1. Started a new owner mode game. 2. Made the trades I wanted (with fair trades on) and wrote them down. 3. Loaded my dynasty. 4. Turned off fair trades, and made the trades again. 5. Turned fair trades back on. Kamasutra
it's a bug that sometimes creeps up. You don't need to turn off fair trades, just budgets. If the trade is fair it will go through. Make sure it's within your budget, trade, then turn budgets back on.

With fair trades on, budgets on, and in dynasty mode, I've never seen the CPU accept a trade that would cause their total salary to go up. Thanks for the tip. Trading with budgets off is a lot easier. I don't know why I didn't try that before. :)

When I say bug I meant that sometimes for example you can't do any trades at all because if your guy is worth 10M or more, you're practically stuck with him unless you want to almost give him away to a bottom team. cybernetic
They will take on trades for higher salary at some points but it's based on ratings as well for the most part. Once in my dynasty they (the Marlins) offered AAA OF Chris Aguila for Eric Hinske near the end of the '05 season. At that point he had 3 years left in a deal that paid him about 4-4.5 mil per season and Aguila was making the league minimum. Of course I jumped at a chance to move Hinske and Aguila became my 4th outfielder in '06.. this was roughly a year ago. EDIT: Something that I found helps out sometimes is when you send them down, place them on the block and call them up maybe a couple weeks later and keep them on the block. Sometimes the CPU will make offers for them.

Loaded my dynasty. 4. Turned off fair trades, and made the trades again. 5. Turned fair trades back on. How does that work? Are you using two different franchises? How will trade work for one dynasty and not the other? Thanks
fred13
because in Owner mode the cpu will take on larger salaries, something that rarely happens in Dynasty mode.

cybernetic
What I do is when I want to do a trade so I mess with different combinations of players to see what they would accept and once I find a match of either 1 for 1 or 1 for 2 I start adding guys on it.. although they still won't take salary early in the season.. they seem to be more willing to trade if they placed the guy on the trading block though
omairee
(yay for first post) I think this may have been a fix provided so that players don't just trade overpaid players for gold mine cheap players (i.e. Sosa for Wells). I wish the trading system was a bit more like the High Heat series where a player was valued based on numbers. I remember having to give up 2 top prospects to get Bako because at the time, Bako was having a career year and my catcher got hurt for the season or something. The only time I have seen CPU add salary is when they propose a trade to me. Oh well, gotta take the good with the bad, huh? BTW, if anybody knows of a way to fix this (besides turning fair trades or budgets off), please please please please let me know The FA fix was a nice one, maybe sometime soon we'll have one for trades? TheTweeds
This has been ridiculously hard as I am in my 2nd season of my mets dynasty. I ran into every problem listed on the site. The Free Agent market is flooded with RP and I can't even come close to trading because every teams budget is only at 500K except for the yankees who have 40 million available. So here the trade I was trying to propose. The Brewers have Carlos Lee on the block at 1 yr 8.10M I was trying to send Cliff Floyd whose is at yr 7.30M and Phillip Humber who is 24 and has 4yr 100K a year and the Brewers won't even come close. So just to see who ridiculous this is, I tried trading Paul LoDuca, Mike Pelfrey and Lastings Milledge for Lee and they still turned it down. The Brewers would save 2M in salary and pick up two top 100 prospects. Any thoughts by anyone without turnig fair trade off and budget off on how to get these trades going. Also whatever happend to the trade analyzer?
Kamasutra
nope, as discussed b4, turn budgets off but leave fair trades on. If it's fair it's accepted.
TheProdigy
I don't understand, I traded Kazuo Matsui mid-season for Justin Morneau, the offered me Morneau Matsui - 7 Million $ Salary Morneau - 300 K Salary shrugs, sounds like a steal to me :D
cybernetic
I guess they don't want Cliff Floyd
omairee
Nobody wants Cliff Floyd. I kid. Back to the matter, the CPU also has a great issue accepted trades of 3 for 1, and sometimes 2 for 1. Try Floyd plus somebody else with a $1mil or so salary, and adding a $600k player for the Brewers. That may be good enough.
TheTweeds
Ok I'll give that a shot. Also to jets rule if computer initiates trade they will accept. However if you dont accept it and then try making the same deal the computer won't accept.
omairee
Ya, also a lot of trades will go through at one time but not another, so if there's a player you want, I suggest offering the trade several times during the course of a year. For example, I was able to trade Jones to the Rays for Crawford, as well as getting ARod for Ramirez, Utley for Walker and a prospect, and Hudson for Maddux and Williamson. For most of those trades there was a lower-level prospect on each side, but the Jones for Crawford trade was one-for-one. Edit: I just pulled off Maddux for A. Jones in a dynasty I'm simming. cybernetic
if they fall out of the race or the guy is disgruntled (they'll place him on the block) they are more likely trade him
