Photoshop'ed pitcher

Hey guys,

I have been playing around with photoshop and am trying to upload a good dynasty. I had recently spent a lot of time in manupilating a screenshot took during the game. I was wondering if you guys could give me feedback on this screenshot. Any tips, comments, changes would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Special thanks to joeRudi for his help with photoshop.

try and feather it so you dont have a lot of the white outline around the picture, unless thats what you are going for

I used the feather tool probably 3 or 4 times but thats how it came up. I did use the drop shadow options, and the inner shadow options.

Would it be better if I used the sponge tool? Thanks.

Zoom in to about 4-500% and use either the pen tool with anchor points turned on or the polygonal lasso tool. The reason you zoom in so much is so you can see where the pixels start to change color and can usually tell what your outline is easier. Also, I do recommend the pen tool, just because you can manipulate curves much more easier. The shot below is an example cutout I did and then pasted on a black background. I did this with the pen tool and zooming in.

By the way, this should be in the Creative Discussions forum.

Good job, redsox. My only suggestion would be to put your pitcher on a lighter background, and drop the outer glow. Making your pic smaller also hides some discrepancies on your edges (pixels).

*Franchise_Player is right. Moving to the Creating Discussions Forum.

Thanks a lot guys. I will work on a different picture and see if I can do a better job. I just now got hooked on to photoshop, and I hope to get better soon.

where did you get that hi-res hockey pic?

Searching around on the Rangers website, I believe it was actually part of a wallpaper they had pre-made. So I took it, cut Jagr out, and made my own wallpaper with it.

Hi all,

Here are couple more that I have worked on. I don't think its anything close to being presentable (as a dynasty thing that is), but was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind giving feedback once again.

I tried to do a lot of feathering on these two pictures.

Also, can some one maybe instruct me on how to change the background of the above two images. When I was using the erasor tool, I didn't really care about the color hoping I could change it later on. But for some reason I can't get it to work.

Thanks for any comments, criticism, or help.

Franchise_Player, I am trying to learn how to use the Pen tool but can you maybe give me some pointers? Thank you.

man, it's crazy how you guys do all this stuff. i've tried my hand (or cursor) at the photo editing stuff, and it looked like a goat crapped on my screen. :D i was the guy in art class that made pottery, etc. that looked like a monkey was let loose in the kiln.

on topic though, i really like the padres one (hurts me to say that). especially the reflections in the bottom right corner - seems to tie the whole picture together. some good work man.

First of all, cut out the pictures of your pitchers. Second, make a new layer (you'll have to check the size against your pitchers) and fill it with whatever color you want. Then copy and paste your pitchers back on to it. If you need help, shoot me a pm.

Thanks for the comment, but this is no where close to what I want it to look like. I have been reading up on a lot of tutorials and would really like to get it close to what JR has done with his dynasty. I am still working on it.
