Psychological Hitting

I ma playing as the Yankees in my dynasty because Im trying a higher level of difficulty, and the Padres cant hit for ****.

Anyway I signed Brian Giles at around the all star braek, and he is now getting towards the top of the league in HRs, only a couple behind A-Rod, and I just hit 3 solo shots off 3 different pitchers in the same game ( a personal first for me).

Now, even as a severly biased one-eyed fan, I dont pretend that his hitting is that great (although maybe it IS just the Petco effect), so I am figuring it must be purely pschological, because he was never this good in any of my other dynasties.

Anyway, anyone got any hitters that they just seem to click with, or seen some uncharictaristic hitting?

i do very well with players i enjoy in real life as well. a few that come to mind are Carl Crawford, David DeJesus, and J.T. Snow. and, of course, Bonds.

i don't think i've played a game yet with DeJesus that I didn't get a hit with him. and i usually get an extra base hit with crawford - probably at least 80% of the time.

Juan Castro, he sucks, but in year 1 of my dynasty he hit everything and was a singles/doubles machine. Had one of the highest OPS's on the team.

Luis Castillo in year 2, had a .223 average in the middle of September before getting hurt for the remainder of the year. I hit .300 with him in year 1 and his ratings didn't change a whole lot between years.

I hit about 50 homeruns with Michael Barrett, and I'm hitting almost .400 with Bobby Abreu.

Other than that almost everyone else on my team is just about in line (except Aramis Ramirez is hitting .340 and Derrek Lee is hitting .270)

I used to hit atleast 5-6 hr a week with Carlos Delgado. Everytime it was up and in, I'd jack it 400+ feet. I think its that stance.

Funny you mention Giles since I just started a new Dynasty and he (not a player on my team) was the first to 10 HR on pace for 77.

Same here, in mine he was hitting over .420, just a week after the allstar break with like 28 homeruns. And he was still on the trading block.

I ******* own with Dioner Navarro. I hit 5 home runs in one game with him on MVP. I saw five fastballs on the inside corner, and tilted. His stance is so easy to hit homers with.

Larry Bigbie, whom I don't even like in real life, is always a machine when I play with him on my team in MVP. It seems I can always turn on something inside and launch it right down the line for a HR or double. It's weird - when I let the CPU sim games, Bigbie doesn't do that well (b/c he sucks, as he should, given his ratings)... but when I am controlling him - I can hit more HR's with him than I can Pujols or Rolen.
