Rylo_c
If they no long make the game If they no long gain any money from it's sale is it a moral thing to feed the scalpers When a company no longer supports, makes, or sales a game it is called abandonware If someone bought the game on ebay for $80 bucks could they go to EA to get the needed patches to fix the studdering problem? here try http://www.easports.com/games/mvp2005/downloads.jsp could you do it? NO they have abandoned the game I said the exact same thing in my first post last week before a friend spotted the game in a 2nd hand games store (the post was removed within about 2mins btw). Anyway i agree that there should be no reason for people to frown upon those who have dl'd the game as Kraw has hit the nail on the head. Nobody is losing out on the game being dl'd apart from those who are putting the game on ebay and selling it for stupid prices (not there fault obviously that the game is selling at such high prices). I would suggest that nearly everyone who gets the game will probably download a patch/mod etc form this site. Therefore the site could host a download of the game for a certain donation fee ($5-10 for instance) which would boost the donation amount of each month. Is this illegal if it is abandonware? Lots of people would benefit from this as would the site through increase in donations. This sounds like a fair idea to me. Is it possible? Is it actually legal? Does anybody agree with me? krawhitham
abandonware sites get away with what they do because they to not make money themselves. Downloading the game for a $5-$10 donation would be highly illegal on a side note you can download 95% of the game through all the mods that are on the site
Rylo_c
Fair enough, it was just an idea. I did say through donations though and not a payment for the game (thats what i meant anyway). Hope everyones having a great 4th July over in the states, wish i could be there to enjoy the festivities. Well done on the site people, keep it up :D
