Well... I finally did it. I downloaded Firefox... and its way better than internet explorer... Everyone was always talking about how much better it was and I was like yeah well i dont wanna learn a new browser or whatever, but since I got a new computer, i did anyways. Yea... its straight up amazing... anyone have any hints or tips for me that I wouldnt know yet? I'm still a noob with this :) Anyways, i just got my new laptop for college (which im posting from right now, and its why i havent been around much the last 3 days... been fixing it up...) its a 15 inch macbook pro, dual os. I've got both Mac 10.4.6 Tiger and XP Pro (Which i got xp pro legit for $12)... the video card is a ati mobility x1600, which from what ive heard, isnt great, but isnt bad (someone wanna fill me in on it) , 2.14 dual core processor (slight upgrade from my old p4 2.53 :) ) 1 gig of ram, and a dvd/cd super drive. The mac media technology is amazing... its got a built in webcam with 20 some simultaneous special effects... The harddrive is 100 gig at 5400 and its partitioned 65 mac, 35 xp... im doing games (i only play 4-5 on a regular basis) and a few apps on the xp side, media and docs and everything else over on mac... boot up time for mac is like 20 secs, start to finish... no kidding... anyways... had a couple nasty viruses today on the xp side, which makes me love mac more because you cant get viruses.... oh well... nuff rambling... tell me what u think...

Yeah Firefox is better for sure, my only gripe is how it messes up some MySpace pages but it is a huge upgrade over IE, quite a bit more secure.

Firefox is by far the best free program ever. I've used it for about a year now on my PC, but on my Mac I tend to use Safari a bit more. It's very, very similar to Firefox, but I like it more because the bookmark menu is nicer and it seems to run faster mos tof the time.

If you have AOL, you should switch to anything but AOL. That includes jumping off a mountain, standing on the freeway, stuff like that. Just not AOL.

hey jhath

I never used firefox on a mac before, but i'm sure it has tabbed browsing too. IF u press ctrl + T (on pc) it opens up a new tab, which is one of the features i love on firefox, been using it for 2+ years now, even before they renamed it to firefox (use to be Mozilla Firebird). u should be able to customise the buttons at the top and add the Open a new Tab button, instead of the ctrl + T, just don't know how on a mac.

The thing I love the most about Firefox is how you can customize your own toolbar...I've customized buttons to pop up new windows. You can also open a list of downloads , scroll up and down the list etc , things you couldn't do in IE.

Now I use IE only for mlb.com gameday audio , yahoo! college sports etc , they don't cooperate well with firefox

kool... thanks for that tip.. althought I'm using firefox on the xp side and safari on the mac side... i really like safari... it seems a tad faster than firefox but they are actually pretty similar
