patience is key.. pro is pretty easy to hit if u sit back and wait for good pitches to hit and aim to pull homers

im so bad at pulling the ball, but ill try, thx for the tip.

thats what I do and you'll get a couple good pitches to hit pre at-bat.. I'm having the same problem in All-Star right now.. I've lost 3 of my 7-8 games at all-star 1-0 and didn't have many hits but I'm getting better with patience and getting more hits now.

A good way to build patience is to take pitches just to see their trajectory and velocity. Take every pitch until you have 2 strikes on you, then swing at anything close. After you do this for a couple of games, you should develop a much better eye and be able to tell not only if a pitch is a ball or a strike, but what path the ball is taking and at what speed it's coming at you, then you'll be able to adjust properly.

Keep in mind some general things about hitting too - high fastballs come in a LOT faster than low fastballs. Watch the rotation and release point to determine the difference between breaking balls - a curveball and slider look very similar but have very different flight paths and different velocities.

I hope this has helped.

I have a patience problem too but this helped unbeleiveably.

Great tip.. this how someone helped me with hitting.. it has improved my hitting greatly.. It is amzing the number of ground outs and pop ups you get swinging on the first pitch

I'm having the same problem when it comes to hitting. I feel like i'm too impatient a lot of times I seem to ground out or fly out. It gets really frustrating lol. Ohh and the thing that makes it so bad is the slider/splitter/sinker pitch. Whenever I swing at it, it seems like the game slows down and I miss it. Idk what the deal is anymore man. It's getting really annoying. I think my batting average is like around .220 or something which is really bad on pro.

Tips: wait for you pitch and make the pitcher pitch. Remember, you can take 2 strikes and then you have to swing. First, when you start to hit just hit line drives at the middle. Second, take walks: work the count. If the pitch is a ball, do not swing at it. But if there are 2 strikes and you are not sure if the ball is a strike or a ball swing at it. When the pitcher is tired he will do 2 things: he will walk you or he will make mistake pitches.

If the pitch is a mistake pitch just swing at it and that ball will be into the seats.

Heh, that's great advice man, appreciate it. The thing is that it just seems like whenever I hit the ball, it's either a ground out or a flyout which really sucks. I cant seem to get any good hits, like doubles, etc. Am I supposed to be pressing the analog stick a certain way when i swing the ball or something? I seem to swing at the first pitch too and the opposing pitcher's pitch count is really low throughout the game. Which sliders should I tweak to help me out here? Any help is appreciated! :)

Bump this. I haven't done anything to sliders and would like to know more about them.

Search the official sliders thread to find one to your liking. There is also a description as to what each slider means in the same thread.

Also, check the download section for specific datafiles that go with the sliders of your liking.
