Game Preview:

Ricky Nolasco

ph4450603ph.jpg

The Reds aren't very worried coming into tonight's game. They get to face Ricky Nolasco, an inexperienced, young, and shaky pitcher. Nolasco has 2 starts for this year and both of them are losses. Although he has the Marlins offense backing him up, he still hasn't been pitching very well. Peter Gammons reported earlier that, "If the Reds can hit Nolasco like they have been hitting the past few games, he should be back down in the minors soon."

Chris Young

young3sg.jpg

Chris Young is coming off his 1st loss of the season, however he is fortunate that he gets to have a Reds offense that has led themselves to a 5 game win-streak coming in to this game. If he can keep the Marlins under 5 runs in this game, he is almost guaranteed a victory tonight. When asked about his recent pitching pitching performance, a very close loss, Young said, "I was pitching well unfortunately our offense couldn't produce, but they have been on a roll in the last couple games and I'm glad I have them hitting for me. I just need to keep the ball down, get outs, and let my offense score me runs and hopefully win the game."

John Kruk on the Reds making history:

"The Reds had an unbelievable game tonight. For the first time in 42 years a team hit four consecutive homeruns, the last team being the 1964 Minnesota Twins. There have only been 4 teams in history now that have accomplished this feat: The Milwaukee Braves in 1961, The Cleveland Indians in 1963, The Minnesota Twins in 1964, and The Cincinnati Reds in 2006. Chris Young, tonight's pitcher for the Reds, was somewhat overshadowed with the offensive performance. He went a complete game giving up 4 runs even though two of them scored on errors. Young even helped himself out by going 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Tonight was a memorable moment for the Cincinnati Reds Organization."

Game Preview:

Aaron Harang

harang8tj.jpg

Harang, who is coming off his best start of the season, has the lowest ERA of all the starting Reds pitchers. He looks to exploit the young weak lineup of the Brewers. If he wants to stay out of trouble, he must pitch carefully to Geoff Jenkins, Corey Koskie, and Prince Fielder. With the Reds on a 7 game winning streak, their offense will surely produce runs, it is just up to Harang to keep the Brewers from doing the same.

Ben Sheets

66188rh.jpg

Sheets is one of the best young pitchers in the league. Even though he has a 1-2 record, you can't blame him for those losses when he has an ERA under 2. Sheets must stay down in the zone the whole game, because each hitter in the Reds lineup has the capability of going yard. If Sheets wants to win this game he must keep the Reds under 3 runs because no one can count on the Brewers streaky offense to produce.

John Kruk's Game Analysis:

"Once again, the Reds proved that they can hit any pitcher. Ben Sheets did not bring his best stuff tonight and it showed. On the other hand, Aaron Harang pitched another stellar game going all 9 innings and only giving up one run. The Reds are definately the hottest team in baseball right now and they are just dominating a slumping NL Central division. If the Reds can come out with the same instensity in the next game it is a sure victory."

Reds finish series 2-2

Unfortunately the Reds win streak had to end sometime. The Brewers took the 3rd and 4th games and the Reds took the 1st and last.

Breaking News

The Reds signed Jered Weaver today, a young pitcher with loads of potential. Weaver was released earlier in the year by the Angels because of disputes over playing time, his contract, and his performance. Weaver was injured as well which probably lead to his ultimate dismissal from the team. The Reds are excited to have gained such a good, young player. Weaver will likely start in the place of Elizardo Ramirez, who has not had a great year and who will probably be sent back to AAA Louisville. Weaver will make his first start as soon as he returns from injury.

Reds to get rid of Griffey?

Straight from the mouth of Harold Reynolds, Griffey's former teammate, were the words, "We may trade Griffey..." With all of Cincinnati in disbelief over this, Reynolds wonders who he could swap Griffey Jr. for. "I was thinking possibly going after Miguel Cabrera of the Marlins, who seems to be unhappy with a slumping team, or maybe Joe Mauer to replace our weak catcher position. It is really up in the air right now."

Who do you think the Reds should trade Griffey for? Or do you think the Reds shouldn't trade him at all? Post your responses.

NOOOOOOOO! :D

trade Dunn.

I don't know, Reynolds told me  he wants to trade Griffey for youth, but Dunn is a possibility, but really if you were to trade Griffey, what young player would you trade him for?

Breaking News, Blockbuster Trades!!

The Reds have traded Ken Griffey Jr., Bronson Arroyo, and Cash to the Twins for Joe Mauer, and Francisco Liriano. Then to fill Griffey's spot in the outfield the Reds traded Joe Mays to the Orioles for Nick Markakis. Reynolds is excited to have recieved tons of youth into the Reds potent lineup.

I haven't saved my dynasty yet so I can always undo these if you guys disapprove!

I don't know but Griffey was rumored to be traded earlier in the season. Personally when I do trades I like to keep them realistic.. in real life the Twins would never move Mauer or Liriano

I already traded milton for Chris Young before the 1st game and Kearns is one of my best players. I just think that if I keep Griffey for this season, by next season he will have gotten much worse and I couldn't get anything for him. Also the only fair way to get liriano and mauer was to trade arroyo as well. I can always go back and change it back but i don't know if i will.
