Too bad they're barely winning the worst division in baseball

if you take the last place team in the NL west, they would be in 2nd in the NL east. People only say the west was weak based on last season where a lot of teams have had injuries. People only say its weak because theres is not one team that has ran away with the division. For the most part of the season, every single team has been above 500

are you going to do the national/reds trade in real life?

Probably not because I think it was the dumbest trade ever, so I don't think I will but any other trades the Reds make that are not stupid i will do

It's because the CPU places their top AAA starters in the bullpen in the majors as long men and they don't play much and then after they complain about playing time they get placed on the block

Breaking News out of Cincinnati

The Reds placed Adam Dunn and Scott Hatteberg on the trading block and within an hour, 2 trades have been offered to the Reds. One involving Prince Fielder for Adam Dunn and a player to be named later, and another involving CF Adam Jones of the Seattle Mariners for Scott Hatteberg. The Reds GM, Harold Reynolds, has been thinking about whether or not he should accept these trades, should he?

They actually give you trade offers? Wow.. I never get any for anyone I place on the block

Yeah I'm suprised too, I guess there are alot of unhappy players in my dynasty. I put Adam Dunn on the trading block b/c he was unhappy and then after the next game a trade offer popped up. I don't know what has changed in my dynasty, :?

i would do the Hatteberg for Adam Jones trade, i dont think i would do the Dunn one. Especially if you plan on going more then 1 year, Jones can later replace Griffey

Ya, but then who would replace hatteberg at 1st? Prince Fielder, so I was thinking I should do both of them but I'm not sure yet

i keep thinking hatteberg is a C ...... cant' dunn play first ?

Yes, but he sucks at it, I tried it before, with freel in LF and dunn at 1st instead of hatteberg, and he made at least 2 errors. So I think I'm gonna take the trade, plus Fielder will be better in 1 season than Dunn probably.

Reds Make Blockbuster Trade

Today the Reds made 2 trades, both were offered to the Reds just hours after Adam Dunn and Scott Hatteberg were placed on the Trading Block. One trade sends LF Adam Dunn and SP Mike Gosling to the Brewers for 1B Prince Fielder and cash. The 2nd trade sends 1B Scott Hatteberg to the Mariners in return for CF Adam Jones. Adam Jones will now start at CF and bat 8th, Nick Markakis will be moved to RF, and Austin Kearns will be moved to LF. Prince Fielder moves into Scott Hatteberg's spot at 1B and will take Dunn's cleanup spot in the order.

Game Preview:

Chris Young

youngbs7.jpg

Young, who has been the Reds most consistent pitcher this year, makes an important start against the Astros tonight. With the Reds neck and neck with the Cubs for the division lead, it is crucial that the Reds can keep winning until the Cubs fall back a few games. Young battles tonight against a potent Astros lineup that has the speed to win a ballgame just on the basepaths. Young must try and speed his delivery up with runners on base otherwise the Astros will be running wild tonight.

Taylor Buchholz

Buchholz has been an interesting pitcher this year. With an era close to 3, he is doing good with giving up few runs, yet he is 2 and 3. Somedays he comes out with a vengence against the other team and pitches great, but other days he can't seem to get through the 4th inning. He must have a winning mindset tonight, otherwise the young, but dangerous, Reds lineup will walk all over him. The reason Buchholz isn't a great Major League pitcher is because of his inconsistentcy. This is what separates good pitchers and great pitchers. If he wants to be a great pitcher he must prove to everyone that he can win every night and when else would be a better time than against the division leading Reds.

John Kruk's Game Analysis

"This was a great game, both to watch, and for the players to play. This game came down to the last swing but the Astros just couldn't complete the comeback. The Reds had a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the 9th, Chris Young was pulled for the closer, Todd Coffey, and things almost spiraled out of control. Coffey quickly let a man on base and then Berkman jacked a homerun to bring the game within one. However Ryan Wagner was then put into the game after Coffey had two outs, and he quickly finished off the 'stros. I loved the intensity Chris Young came out with. He dominated the game even though he gave up a homerun, it barely went out of the short porch in left. The Reds have a Cy Young candidate on their hands and his name is Chris Young."
