So I've decided to go ahead and start my new dynasty, and just to make things difficult I've started it w/the Royals....yes...the royals....

So without further adue...

April 3rd -- New GM makes some moves The 2005 Major League Baseball season was anything but kind to the Kansas City Royals. This once proud franchise has quickly become the laughing stock of the majors. But hope springs eternal this year, as it does for every team, with the begining of a new baseball season. Royals fans are hoping for a quick turnaround from last years debacle of a season, but only time will tell if things can improve quickly. One thing is for sure though, new GM Dayton Moore said he would do his best to make this team better as quickly as possible. And nothing was more evident than that, then the trade he pulled off earlier. In a stunning development Moore shipped outfielder Reggie Sanders, and AAA pitching prospect Jimmy Gobble to the New York Mets for shortstop Jose Reyes, and outfiled prospect Lastings Milledge. "I wanted to make an immediate impact," said Moore, "I know that Reggie was one of the offseason transactions that made a splash when he was brought in, but I just didn't see him fitting in our future." Moore is trying to turn around a franchise that hasn't been to the postseason since 1985, and hasn't been close in a long, long time.

April 4th --- After one game, Royals lookin' good After an opening day win against the Detroit Tigers, the Kansas City Royals are already looking like an improved team. After being down 1-0 early in the game, the Royals battled back to tie the game at 1. But after what seemed to be a blown call by the 3rd base umpire on a close play at 3rd, the Tigers would get a clutch hit from Craig Monroe to take a 3-1 lead. The score would stay that way until the 6th inning when the Royals finally broke through to tie the game, and would take a 4-3 lead. Wtih runners at 1st and 2nd with 2 out, Rogers would hit the 9th batter John Buck to load the bases. The next batter, David DeJesus would make him pay by hitting a two run single back up the middle to give the Royals a 6-3 lead. Rogers would then be removed from the game, in favor of a reliever. And the Royals were not to score again. After 2 scoreless innings by the bullpen, it was up to Elmer Dessens to close out the game. After only 3 batters, the game was over on a strikeout of Craig Monroe and the Royals had an opening day victory. "This was a good game for us to start out with," said manager Buddy Bell, "We just kept batteling back after being down 1-0, and then 3-1. This is the way yoiu want to start of a long season." Indeed it was a good way to kickoff the 2006 season, and hopefully a sign of things to come. (sorry there are no photos. My picture hosting site was busy, and I was having trouble uploading the pictures, I'll have plenty next time)

Yeah, it's not all that realistic, but with UR 7.0 and updated player stats and what not, I figured if the CPU takes it, then it's fine by me :lol:

April 6th --- Royals win again, off to 2-0 start What seemed to start out as a pitchers duel, turned into a blowout after the 7th inning. The Royals took advantage of a mistake ridden defense, and questionable managing to score 7 times in the bottom half of the inning. The game started off with both pitchers mowing down opposing batters left and right. The scoring wouldn't begin until a 1 out double in the bottom of the 4th by Joey Gathright, followed by a Jose Reyes single made it 1-0. The score would remain 1-0 until the bottom of the 6th when Gathright and Reyes were at it again. A single by Gathright, and a double by Reyes gave the Royals a 2-0 lead. The celebration wouldn't last long though, because in the top of the 7th with 2 out Craig Monroe drove a 2-2 pitch the opposite way to make the game 2-1. But back came the bats in the bottom of the 7th for the Royals. After David DeJesus flied out, Mark Grudzielanek would double. Mike Sweeney would then be intentionally walked only to be followed by a Doug Mientkiewicz double making it 3-1. The next batter, Emil Brown, doubled to the wall in left center scoring 2 runs making it 5-1. Joey Gathright would then double, followed by a Angel Berroa single, and then a Jose Reyes single. John Buck would reach base on an error, and then a David DeJesus single would cap the 7th run inning, making the score 9-1. After 2 shutout innings by Andy Sisco, the Royals had themselves a 9-1 victory. Next up for the Royals, are the defending champion White Sox. Here are a few shots from today's game:

the uni's are pretty awesome. I think I like the black ones better though. When I get home tonight ill post the lineups and pitching rotation, as well as the transactions from around the league thus far.

The black ones are my favorite, too. They seemed to turn out better than the rest, I think.

But if you'd like, I could send you some Royals concept jerseys to use. Lord knows after awhile you'll get tired of the lowly Royals, so some new jerseys might spice things up if you're interested. Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing some screenshots of them in-game...

Anyways, keep up the trades and make the foyals a winner.

Royals concepts sound awesome, do you already have them completed? Or just the design? Either way feel free to send 'em and I'll see what the look like in game and post some shots for ya.

As for the Reyes trade, I was really happy that I didn't have to give up anything to get him, and getting Milledge was just for my own personal enjoyment.
