Can anyone shed light on the pros and cons of these two cards

ATI® RADEONTM 9200

NVIDIA® GeForce FX 5200

Im lookin to get another system and these are two cards that came up on two systems i am looking at.

Well, its only because I've used Nvidia products before and most of the time they don't perform up to the way i want to. The 5200 isn't necessarily a DirectX9 ready card and usually Nvidia releases drivers that don't work as good. ATI on the other hand, lol, their 9200 is great for direct x 9 games like MVP Baseball and their drivers are pretty good in stability.

It's up to you though, if you want to use standard settings for the game on 5200, or maxed out settings with the 9200. But bah, what would I know...i'm just a modder.

I have an ATI presently and am very happy with it. and Max'd settings BAH..who would wanna use those :lol:

i have no idea which is better, but i've never tried either of the ones your looking at. i've always used nvidia and have had good performance. i have a gf4 ti4200 8x now, and everything's maxed out running without bumps. just don't neglect ram and cpu, cuz without that it doesn't matter how badass your gfx card is.

i am looking at something near the following

P4 3.0ghz 512mb ram

160gbhd

should be more than ample to run it smooooooooooooooooooooooth
