heathd521
I started my dynasty last week and so far I'm 6-3. But I have yet to walk a batter or be walked by the opposing team. I don't walk because I'm too impatient of a hitter and swing at everything. But to me, it seems too easy to get the ball in the strike zone and not walk anyone. Is that just me or has anyone else noticed that?
chubbyd
I noticed it too. I changed the pitching difficulty setting to something a little harder, turned off the pitch cursor and strike zone, turned on variable strike zone, and turned off vibration so I cant be sure exactly where the corners are. Give this a try...
fred13
there are Datafiles that will increase the number of walks, also you can adjust the cpu pitch accuracy slider.
AcousticNut
Follow the suggestions the ChubbyD and Fred13 have put into place. Spitoon's walk fix will drastically decrease the amount of "green space" in your pitch meter, which will lead to more walks. Here's somthing that I've done that I rarely have seen mentioned.... Bump up the CPU Hitting and Power meters. If you're contantly having to nibble at the corners to avoid giving up the long-ball, you're bound to walk more people. Fastflink2009
Ok this is what i do, i turn of strike zone, pitch cursor, hot/cold zones, vibration, and i increased the pitch meter difficulty, that helped me walking people and for the CPU, i changed some CPU pitching sliders around. Just change the ones you think would make it harder for them to hit.
nc4182
I keep the pitch cursor on fade Turn strikezone off Turn Variable Strikezone on.
The Ace
What does Variable Strike Zone mean...? Does it make a difference, I play with that off, and I us MD's Datafile - I draw a lot of walks, and also get about 2-3 walks a game which isn't much but is "normal"... redsox
What does Variable Strike Zone mean...? It means that the balls and strikes will not be always called correctly. Certain calls could go either way if this option is turned on. Makes for a more realistic game.
The Ace
ahh, okay - makes more sense. I might as well turn on Variable Strike Zone..
cybernetic
Personally a barely walk (hitting) I have 2 walks (that weren't intentional) this season and I'm early in May.. I walk 1-2 guys a game sometimes higher but with the pitchers that I walk more than that they don't stay in the game long
