New UR not working...

I downloaded the new UR 7.0, but when i go back to the game the rosters are the same as before. Is anyone else having this problem? Or does anyone have an idea of what I could be doing wrong?

Are you sure you are putting the .dat files in the right folder? Remember that when you extract the rosters in winzip or winrar, it makes a brand new folder called dat, and if placed in that folder, the game won't read the new rosters.

One way to avoid this problem in the future is to uncheck the setting in your extractor program that says "extract files using full path" or "use folder names" or whatever similar thing your extractor may say.

The only problem is, if you download something like my models.big files, it will then mess you up in that the files will then not go to the folders they need to go to.

This is really weird. I actually have the same problem. I opened the MBE in mvpEdit, as I always do, and then went to "export" them into the game... and all seemingly went well... except when I went into Roster Management in the game... everything is the same. Has ANYBODY else had this problem at all? As of this moment, I've had no luck getting UR 7.0 to work.

why did you use the MBE File? all i did wa sput in the DAT folder in the right place and got the new rosters

Make sure you're exporting to the datadatabase directory from MVPEdit. Also, try resetting the rosters in-game.

Yeah I did that. I'm pretty familiar w/ MVPEdit. Just as a test, I opened an old roster (MBE) I had saved, and exported it - and IT WORKED. It's only when I try to use the UR 7.0 mbe that nothing changes.... ?!?!

Seriously?!?! What the heck could possibly be causing that? It doesn't even make any logical sense to me.

I have never had a problem over-writing the rosters with any version of UR. But I saw something was messed up with this when I looked at the Yankee roster and it still has Matsui and Sheffield as active players and Sturtze is still on the roster.

I don't know what is causing it.

That's very strange. Did you try resetting the rosters?

I'm assuming you mean using the "Reset Rosters" button in-game, AFTER exporting using MVPEdit outside-the-game. And YES, I did that. lol.

I have never had a problem over-writing the rosters with any version of UR. But I saw something was messed up with this when I looked at the Yankee roster and it still has Matsui and Sheffield as active players and Sturtze is still on the roster.

I don't know what is causing it.

Oh yea i know what your talking about now im having the same problem Melky and Beam and Smith arent even on the damn team the only rosters that worked for me were the AS teams and teh Red Cold things also changed but thats about it.

No no - I'm not talking about being unhappy with certain changes in the roster, I'm talking about the changes I see present when I open it in MVPEdit not showing up in-game AT ALL after I export and reset.

Hideki, Sheffield and Sturtze are still on the roster because there's no DL section of the rosters. Melky, T.J. Beam etc. aren't on the Yankees roster because there's no space for them.

RaptorQuiz - I have no idea why it's not working. The only possible explanation I can think of is that the files aren't being exported to the correct directory, which is doubtful - not only because it's incredibly easy, but you've said yourself they're being put in the correct folder.

So, I'm all out of ideas. Sorry. :(

Is there anything I'm going to lose or whatever by doing it that way instead of exporting? And could this problem somehow be linked to the fact that I'm using the '06 beta mod?

I am still using Mvp 2005 so that can't be.

Interesting. He ended up on the team in Dynasty Mode, but not in Exhibition.

He was most likely on the free agent pool and when you start a new dynasty the computer teams sign free agents of their own.

I don't think it would negatively effect anything by just using the .dat files. Make sure you back up first, though.

MarkB, have you updated to UR 7.0? The reason I ask is that multiple people in this thread seem like they are having the same problem, so I'm wondering if it's a widespread problem with UR 7.0, or just an isolated issue?

Could it be an issue with MVPedit version?
