aaronuconn
Game 3: R. Ortiz vs. J. Lackey Tonights game featured Good Starting Pitching, but with a bad Bullpen, can you guess whos team had the bad bullpen? You guessed it, the Angels. The Angels Bullpen gave up 3ER in 2.0IP. Scott Shields gave up 1 while Hector gave up 2. Lackey pitched well. 6.0 IP 3ER, but his pitch count was high. The Angels lone run came off of a Orlando Cabera solo shot in the 4th. Russ Ortiz pitched phenomnal for the Orioles. Giving up 6 Hits and only 1 ER, thanks to Cabera. No body on either team had more then 1 hit. SP was good, but bullpen needed some help. Mike Scioscia said "their will be some changes if our bullpen keeps giving up late inning runs." Important Stats: HR: Orlando Cabrera (1); RBI: Orlando Cabrera (3); 2B: Melvin Mora (; Miguel Tejada (4); Corey Patterson (3); HR: Jay Gibbons (5); RBI: Brian Roberts (5); Melvin Mora 3 (12); Corey Patterson (2); Jay Gibbons (14) Final Score Stars: Orlando Cabera: 1Hr 1RBI J. aaronuconn
Game 4: K. Escobar vs. K. Benson Tonights game was a pitching duel until the 7th. Baltimore was up 2-0 after 6. During the 7th the Angels went on a tear. 3 runs in the top of the 7th. Brandon Wood singled. Adam Kennedy sacrificed, Chone Figgins was hit by a pitch, Orlando Cabrera sacrificed, Vladimir Guerrero was intentionally walked, then Garret Anderson struck out. Kelvim Escobar went 6 strong innings, while striking out 7 and only walking 1. Id say this is his best outing of the year. The Angels had only 3RBI, since the Orioles had a high 3 Errors in this game. With some coming in the 9th, where they had 2. aaronuconn
Game 1: E. Santana vs. C. Silva Tonights game started off very early for the Angels. Chone Figgins got on by an error, Brandon Wood sacrificed him over, then Vlad takes Silva deep. Silva came out pretty close to that in the 3rd after a Brandon Wood comebacker. The name of the game after that was small ball. Sacrifices. Tonight the Angels made the history book for the amount of sacrifice hits they had. If someone was on first, hed be on 3rd in two bunts. Thats how the Angels manged 12 runs. Well, alittle help from vlad with 2HR but the sac bunts are what did it. The Angles were in the gaem the whole time, thanks to Ervin Santana. He threw a Complete game, so now the bullpen is very rested. Important Stats: 2B: Vladimir Guerrero (4); Jose Molina (2); Chone Figgins (3); Darin Erstad 2 (2); HR: Vladimir Guerrero 2 (6); RBI: Vladimir Guerrero 7 (16); Juan Rivera (14); Robb Quinlan (2); Garret Anderson (11); Darin Erstad (4); S: Juan Rivera (1); Chone Figgins (4); Robb Quinlan (1); Garret Anderson (1); Darin Erstad (5); Adam Kennedy 2 (3); Brandon Wood 2 (2) 2B: Jason Bartlett (3); HR: Joe Mauer (2); RBI: Torii Hunter (3); Joe Mauer (9) Vladimir connecting on a 2run blast in the first Kennedy and Wood turning two, to get out the the threat Castillo laying out for a ball Vladimir hitting his 2nd HR of the day Winner and Loser Stars: Vladimir Guerrero: 5-5 2HR 7RBI Ervin Santana: 9.0 IP 2ER Joe Mauer: 3-4 1HR 1RBI Jason Bartlett: 3-4 2B BOXSCORE Casey Kotchman was injured on a play at first, so Kendry Morales will be called up in his spot, and will start first. aaronuconn
Game 1: R. Harden vs. J. Lackey This game started off looking like a slugfest. The Angels started it off with 2runs in the first. Then the A's werent stunned by that, they put up thier own 2. Thei are no more runs untill the Bottom of the 5th, where Oakland scores off a Molina throwing error. This proved very costly. Why did it prove costly? cause after that, their were no more runs in the game. so the final score is Angels 2 A's 3. John Lackey pitched a good game. He went 7 1/3 IP while only giiving up 3ER. And the Angels rbi's came from hot swinnging DH Juan Rivera. W: Rich Harden (3-1) L: John Lackey (1-2) S: Justin Duchscherer (2) Important Stats: RBI: Juan Rivera 2 (17); S: Orlando Cabrera (6); Chone Figgins (6); Darin Erstad (6); Adam Kennedy (4) RBI: Dan Johnson (5); Frank Thomas (9); S: Jason Kendall (1) Juan Rivera delivering on a 2RBI. single Vlad getting robbed Don't worry JoeRudi, Chavez can't hit for them either Lets turn 2 Winner and Loser Stars: Juan Rivera: 2RBI John Lackey: 7.1 IP 3ER Rich Harden: 7.0 IP 2ER A's Bullpen: 2IP 0ER, 14 TP BOXSCORE Game Notes: That loss breaks the 4 game winning streak for the Angels. aaronuconn
Game 1: J. Verlander vs. J. Weaver For the Tigers, this game started of very good. They were hitting Jered, but they were not getting any runs out of it. In the top of the 2nd. I-Rod hit a opposite field jack to make it 1-0. But then in the bottom of the 3rd, Vlad had his own jack, a 3run blast to give the Angels the lead. Now skipping a few innings, heading into the bottom of the 8th, the Angels were tied with the Tigers, 3-3. In the 8th, Chone Figgins singled, Orlando Cabrera sacrificed. Vladimir Guerrero struck out, Garret Anderson homered, then Darin Erstad grounded out, making it 5-3, Angels. Now so far the bullpen hasent givin up anything, but on comes K-Rod. First batter singles, Angels were thinking, here we go again. But on 13 pitches, K-rod struck out the side. Angels win 5-3. aaronuconn
Ok, for my 1000th post id figure id ask a question. What do you think I need the most? Should I go out and get a big name, or work up from my minors? I usualy do the "Progress the minors" type thing, but I figured, Jose Reyes and Carl Crawford usualy always end up on the Block, so maybe I could go get one of them. What do you guys suggest I do. To get Crawford, Id probably have trade Anderson, or an OF for him. To get Reyes, id probably have to give up Eric Aybar and Orlando Cabera. Im still not sure if ill trade Molina yet, but with Mathis doing pretty good, I might do it, to get a good RP, and a good defensive catcher in Yarbrough, whos playing in single A right now. Any help would be appreciated!
fred13
I'd go for an OF like Crawford. You already have a steady SS. Also, keep Molina on for a season or two untill Yarbrough is ready for the Bigs.
aaronuconn
Thanks, but I havent got Yarbarough yet, hes who I would get for Molina. But I got Mathis whos already my future catcher, so really it would be pointless to get Yarbrough. But I do like geting Crawford. And Reyes I guess I dont want, since I have Brandon Wood right behing Cabera.
