His changeup is the most devastating pitch in his arsenal. It comes out of his hand like his fastball but it ends up being around 17 mph slower. Scouting Report on Halladay 4SFB, CFB, Curve, 2SFB, Slider. He has great command on all his pitches and they all have great movement. His best pitch is his Curveball. bizzyth
Game #1 Pitcher's duel undone The most hyped up opening day matchup did not turn out as expected. Through the first 4 innings, this game looked to be a classic that many would have video tapes of for years (), but after the 5th inning things went wrong for Santana. The score went from 2-1 to 7-1 in a matter of 2 innings. This didn't kill the Twins confidence though. The Twins got 10 hits of off Halladay, who managed to get some clutch defense behind him to help work out of jams. Hillenbrand had a monster game, as he hit for the cycle (!). POTG Hillenbrand - hit for the cycle, what more can I say? The Kind of 'D' that was behind Halladay tonight. bizzyth
AJs Debut Game #2 - Min @ Tor / 7:07PM vs Scouting Report on Radke 4SFB, Crv, Changeup, 2SFB, CChange Radke relies on his 4SFB. He has pinpoint control and uses his changeup to disrupt batters. Radke is also known as a good fielder, he holds runners well and is good at taking bunts Scouting Report on Burnett 4SFB, 2SFB, Changeup, KCrv, Slider He relies on his fastballs. He usually pitches at around 97mph but he has hit 100 before. Burnett seems to have recovered from TJ surgery and is ready for this season. What Burnett needs to improve on is his control, and he needs to control the baserunners. bizzyth
Game #2 BJ seals the deal From AJ to BJ, this game was an interesting one. Rios started off the game with a bang. Other than that, the bats were all silent until the 5th inning again where Radke gave up a string of hits. As for AJ? His debut did not go as planned. 4ERs and 12 hits. He was getting behind in counts and when he threw a strike it ended up being hit. But what the numbers don't tell you is that Speier let 2 of those ERs get in. Gibbons also got in on the on field actions after he argued a close play at home. bizzyth
Trade For the Jays: Pros They get a good young SS for 5 years at a reasonable price There's a open rotation spot for McGowan now They get a top infield prospect, which their system lacks in Cons McGowan can flop They get a filler in Lofton Chulk is a good reliever For the Indians Pros Adams still has potential Towers was one of the better pitchers in the AL East last year (and has a good rating in the game) Chulk was one of the better relievers in stranding inherited runners last year They get rid of a prospect that really isn't rated to do much Cons They give up 2 promising players Adams might have problems like last year Towers and Chulk might not better their career years
bizzyth
Bring out the brooms Game #3 - Min @ Tor / 7:07PM vs Scouting Report on Silva 4SFB, 2SFB, Sinker, Slider He's a pretty good ground ball pitcher. His best pitch is his sinker of course. Silva seems to preform even better in tight situations and isn't easily shook. The 1 thing that hurts him is how he tends to be a little to perfect with his pitches. Scouting Report on Lilly 4SFB, Changeup, CRV, Slider Lilly is a flyball pitcher. His best pitch is his dirty curve ball. Lilly has faced problems with control through out his career. He also is a question mark when it comes to his health. bizzyth
Game #3 Jays tie the Rays for first! This game really went back and forward. The Twins got to Lilly early, but then the Jays fought back to tie the game. The game was never in control until the 9th, when Walker pitched a scorless frame, and Rincon gave up a bases loaded walk off hit. Both teams fought hard and hit the ball well to scrape out runs to get on top of the other team POTG Glaus - had a fabulous night and delivered the walk off hit Lilly didn't have his stuff Wells looks to get another gold glove Twins H/D/R Jays H/D/R Twins Pitching Jays Pitching
bizzyth
Battle for first Game #4 - Tb @ Tor / 7:07PM vs Scouting Report on McClung 4SFB, 2SFB, Curve, Changeup He is a flamethrower. He pitches in the mid 90s and has a good curve as well. He needs to learn how to control his pitches so he can last longer in his games. Scouting Report on Chacin 4SFB, Changeup, CRV, Slider, Sinker Pitches to contact. He doesn't pitch very fast. He has a deceptive windup. He induces alot of grounders and is tough on left handers. His flaw is that he never usually lasts longer than 6 innings.
