Pirate
I am in dire need of a new hard drive. My computing has all but stopped because the poor drive grinds so loud I cannot hear the TV let alone anything I may be working on on the computer. I know this is a sign of death and would like to head it off at the pass. Problem is this is a computer I got from a friend. The OS installed was Windows NT and I upgraded it to XP. I do not have the original OS disk. I only have my upgrade disk. I do have my system restore disk from an old computer. How can I replace the hard drive and not buy a new Windows OS? snepp
Something like this is what you're looking for. There are numerous free apps that do the same thing, couldn't tell you which is good or not. Personally I use an older version of Norton Ghost for all of my HD imaging/cloning/restoring. Edit again, that's an excellent guide that evil posted.
