jhoff80
The only reason anyone is really looking forward to Vista is for the Direct 3D 10 support. Personally, the only reason I want it is that it apparently will be the only way to truly access the Unified Shader Architecture of the upcoming R600 ATI chip. I'm also hoping all the bloat is exaggerated. I mean, I do realize that it is bloated now, but we ARE talking about a beta here. Betas generally come before memory and speed optimizations. Its also quite confusing because while I haven't really been keeping up too much on the details of Vista, I had heard that quite a few unnecessary features were removed, and that supposedly it was to be written entirely from scratch and that a lot of the legacy code that currently causes issues would just disappear. I was really hoping that would be the case, but from what I hear, doesn't seem to be too likely. As it is though I'll still get Vista just for D3D 10.
