CPU auto-signing players for my team

I'm in the 10th year of owner mode (and still struggling to make a buck) and I've encountered a problem. I finish resigning players and rookies, and finish free agent signing with about 88-90 players. Somewhere (I do not select auto-finish) the CPU adds 5-10 expensive geezers to my A and AA teams. Like 40 year old nothings for 500K-1.2mil a year. Its almost impossible to trade them off. This is a drag. An expensive drag, at that. Any way to fix this?

Cheers

I've filled out my rosters completely and it still does it. Not matter how many players I have, it always brings me up to 95. I guess the fix would be to make sure to have 95 players on your rosters before the end of free agent signing.

I don't understand your post. You say you have filled out your rosters completly and that doesn't work, then you tell us the fix is to make sure you have 95 players on the roster before the end of FA signing.

You can fill out your rosters, line ups and pitching rotations, and have less than 95 players (remember, only 85 players are required). I'm just saying the CPU seems to top it up to 95. I'm not saying that this is 100% the fix, as I haven't finished my season yet, but its a theory.

I have the ultimate solution....do all the transactions yourself :D

This is a problem that isn't caused by telling the cpu to autosign, no matter what the CPU will modify your rosters before spring training every year, resulting in 95 players. What logic the CPU uses to do this I cannot say, but even filling out the rosters completely does not fix this. Even when I have 100 talented players in my system, I will find my lower levels with some veterans that are, at least for my purposes, completely useless.

I haven't let this spoil my enjoyment of the game because it usually just results in having a few stiffs on my A ball team, and I always sign exactly 95 players before spring training so the cpu doesn't do much. I would suggest to everyone having this problem, simply plan on having 95 players.
