Hokieboy
thanks guys for keeping up with this dynasty. I'll try to upgrade the graphics a little throughout the next series so keep reading. I'm about to make some callups/transactions in the next few days, so it should stay interesting.
Hokieboy
Game 9: Chicago Cubs vs. (7-1) vs. San Diego Padres (3-5) Cubs hammered by Padres bats Wade Miller sits frustrated in the Cubs clubhouse after an early exit. Miller allowed 7 runs in just 6 innings pitched to lose his first decision of the year. "Its obvisously frustrating when you pitch the ball and they hit it anyway," said Miller. "I guess that first inning is what I have to get over." Miller mentioned the 1st, when the Pad's got their two leadoff men on base, setting the table for lefty slugger Ryan Klesko. On the first pitch he hammered it for a homerun. The Padres would score 4 more over the course of the game, which was good because the Cubs made a late run. Homeruns by Lee, Ramirez, and Barrett made it a respectable score. Wade Miller evened up on the year while Shawn Estes got his first win. Game 10: The Padres travel to Pittsburgh to face the Pirates Key Players: Derrek Lee- 3-4 HR Ryan Klesko- 4-4 HR, 2 doubles, single

Hokieboy
Game 10: Pittsburgh Pirates (3-6) vs. Chicago Cubs (7-2) Marshall gets no decision in first start The Chicago Cubs weren't expecting that rookie starter Sean Marshall would do as well as he did in his first big league game. "I had no idea he had that electric of stuff," said Cubs Manager Dusty Baker. Its to bad the Cubs didn't turn on the offense until late, eventually winning it in extra innings. "The long-ball was our friend today," said thirdbaseman Aramis Ramirez. "Me, Lee, and Blanco really stepped up." Henry Blanco's 10th inning homerun secured the victory as Ryan Dempster picked up his first win. Van Ben Schoten got the loss. Scott Eyre came in to face Jeremy Burnitz to get the save. Cubs shortstop Ronny Cedeno was injured in the 4th inning against the Pirates diving for a ball. He will miss 13 days. Michael Young will take his spot at short and Todd Walker will go to 2B. Game 11: Features aces Carlos Zambrano vs. Oliver Perez Key Players: Henry Blanco- 1-1 PH HR Jeremy Burnitz- 2-4 HR, 2 RBI's
Hokieboy
Breaking News: Cubs send Nevin to Washington for Church The Chicago Cubs, looking for more youth in the roster, made a trade Wednesday that will send backup 1B Phil Nevin to Washington for RF Ryan Church. "We felt that if he wasn't happy here, we'd might as well dump some of his HUGE contract," said GM Jim Hendry. "Bringing in Church will give us another power lefthanded bat in our lineup." Church will split time in RF with struggling Jacque Jones.
Hokieboy
Game 11: Pittsburgh Pirates (3-7) vs. Chicago Cubs (8-2) Cubs, Zambrano take down Pirates The Chicago Cubs had very little trouble winning this one, as their powerful bats slugged them into first place in the NL Central, overtaking the Reds. Barrett, Murton, Ramirez, and Young all contributed with RBI's. The Pirates offense made little noise, relying on hits by Craig Wilson to keep it somewhat close. Carlos Zambrano got the win to record his second win of the year, improving his record to 2-1. Oliver Perez dropped his second straight decision, making his record 1-2. Ryan Dempster continues to roll thru the league, tied for second with his 4 saves. "It really feels good to be in the company with guys like Hoffman, Rivera, Papelbon, and Lidge. Especially when you are rebounding from injury like I am." Game 12: The Cubs look for the sweep against the Pirates Key Players: Michael Barrett- 3-4 2 doubles Craig Wilson- 2-4 single, HR

Fastflink2009
How about post the box scores and do i little writeup of the post series analysis or something, looks great though keep up the good work
Hokieboy
The box scores are incredibly hard to do if you don't have this game on PC. I have to look at the tv and copy down all the numbers from each inning. but i try some different stuff and see if it works better. i like the idea of the post-series analysis. But again, the reason i try to do the pre-series is that you don't have to remember all that went on as much. but i'll try some different stuff and post what i get. thanks for the tips. Fastflink2009
Oh, I didn't know that you didn't have the PC version, my bad. Well for the post series, just generalize what went on, maybe 2 good and 2 bad things each team did in the series, call them like your most important things like from Baseball Tonight. Maybe do an interview with a player or manager from each team. Looks absolutely great though, such high quality stuff.
Hokieboy
dude, great ideas. i'll get right on this stuff asap. baseball tonight is actually a show that i watch a lot and now i can bring that into my dynasty. i'm right on it.
