TwentySeven
When I do a fantasy draft, a lot of times all the mid level AAAA players and older bench players are taken, which is fine except when you have an injury to a starter. All the mid level players are drafted, so you basically have nowhere to go. I think someone should make a mod that makes the computers take more prospects and leave more of the older players and AAAA players around as free agents. cybernetic
A lot of the young guys are rated really low because they are single A guys so their attributs are not as good which makes the CPU not take them.. the CPU will just take the guy with the best attributes on the board basically for a position they need to fill. They sign a lot of AAAA guys to MLB contracts and put them in A. I don't think there's a mod to fix this, the game engine for this type of thing was just not well thought out. RedSoxFan
What would a real team do? .... Take the best player available. When did the Yankees/Sox/Orioles last take a "potential" prospect when an ex MLB player was available and a MLB player went down injured? Why dont you do it instead of aim for AAAA players? because you need to fill a void, just like the other 29 teams. This cant be fixed cause it aint broken. D-Unit
fantasy drafts are made to see what superstars will play for you that would only happen in the All-Star game, it wasn't built to worry about who your backup third baseman is.

Seriously, most teams in their triple A and double A have a lot of younger guys, and older players are the free agents who are signed in case of injury. AAA isn't intended to hold older players in case of injury, it is intended for rehab and prospects. fantasy drafts are made to see what superstars will play for you that would only happen in the All-Star game, it wasn't built to worry about who your backup third baseman is. No, thats the IRL Yankees. In fantasy draft you don't get all the top players you want, it's like any other draft. And I was playing and my right fielder got injured. I didn't want to call up from triple A, but I had to because I couldn't sign a free agent mid level player. The mod I am proposing would only make the game more realistic. Since when has a team signed a 35 year old over a 25 year old to put in their AAA camp?
cybernetic
A lot of teams will hold about 1/3 of the team as AAAA guys in AAA incase of injury and their prospects aren't ready and as well to help the young guys as far as leadership in the dressing room. Often most of these guys were blocked and not given a chance at the big league level and could contribute at the major league level if given the chance but they've gotten older and teams don't want to take as much chance with them at the big league level. In an example of this, 2 years ago the Jays held Gregg Zaun as an emergency catcher on the AAA roster after he was released after spring training by the Expos. Sure enough about 2 weeks into the season, Greg Myers went down with a season-ending injury and Zaun got the chance since their top catching prospect in AAA was also injured. Zaun became the #1 catcher and has stayed with the team for 2 years now.
