I also have a 37" LCD, a Westinghouse 1920x1080 one, and games are amazing on it. Halflife 2 in full resolution is great. For MVP I just set things to the highest resolution that it supports and it puts black bars on the sides (someone really needs to get true widescreen support working.... I know its possible to stretch the image but that looks horrible).

I just bought a new machine, right now i'm shopping to upgrade my crappy 4.5 year old Dell 15'' CRD (I know, I know). The new machine has DVI and Analog inputs, I wasn't aware they could be used at the same time, I thought it was one or the other. If plugged into each, could I set that up side-by-side?

Anyway, I've been watching stealdeals.com, they link cheap sales all across the net.

usually you can set up the vid card to use both displays. or what i do is toggle between the 2 when i do a pc repair. i can plug a clients pc into the dsub input and switch back and forth if i need to transfer or go online to download an app.

again buy.com has the superior deals on name brand lcd's. you just have to watch and when it goes on sale get it because they end rather fast. my 19 inch 2ms is now $250 which isn't bad but i got it for $200. also they always have a $15 off $200 computer equipment clickable coupon. you can either go to techbargains.com to get the coupon or just google for the coupon. so bottom line is at buy.com you could get a NAME BRAND (viewsonic, samsung, benq, etc.) 2-8ms 19 inch LCD with free shipping and no tax (unless you're in CA) for right around $185-$220 +/-. NO ONE online beats them for LCD pricing.

Hey, do the hex editor fix for the widescreen resolution in the MVP EXE and your game should look great. I have mine now at 1366x768, which is max for my LCD and it looks fantastic. Check it out.

Trust me. It looks just like a HD broadcast on TV. You will never go back. It appears because I am manipulating the widescreen aspect ratio through the actual resolution change, that it doesn't appear freaky looking and stretched out. I took a look at the regular square screen tonight to see how it looks and it doesnt compare. I am spoiled with widescreen viewing!

Any chance you could take a picture with a digital camera or something? From what I've read, even though it fills the screen, all it does is stretch it out in all directions. I heard it makes it a little more clear, but still stretches everything.

What would be easier is to just make the adjustment to your MVP.exe and try it out. All you do is adjust two sets of numbers with the hex editor. Very simple. I would send you mine, but mine is maxed out for my 1366x768 monitor. By the way, I took the 37" back and got the Visio 42" LCD from Costco that just came out. Normally $1600 but for this week through Sunday it is $300 off with the coupons there.
