D-Unit
Last Update: April 7th, 2007 (3rd post). Next Update: TBA The 2005 season ended on a bad note, as the New York Yankees suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in a five game series in the ALDS. But this year, GM Brian Cashman made some key offseason moves that seem to have put the pieces in place for a memorable season, one that will hopefully match the glory days of the late 90's. With a revamped bullpen to strengthen the bridge to perennial All-Star Mariano Rivera, the Yankees signed free agents Kyle Farnsworth (Set-up man, throws 100 mph), Mike Myers (left handed specialist, the best in baseball), Octavio Dotel (great stuff, recovering from Tommy John Surgery in a high-risk/high-reward move) and traded for Ron Villone (Lefty longman, gets the job done). They also reinforced the backup situation as they signed Miguel Cairo to man all infield positions, happy to be rejoining the Bronx Bombers following a season in Shea Stadium. But the nail in the coffin was a win-win situation which landed free agent and prized centerfielder Johnny Damon, lured away from the division rival Boston Red Sox for the price of $52 million to head the Yankee lineup and place Yankee favorite Derek Jeter in his natural 2 spot in the order. And this time around, they hope to have healthy pitching, despite Carl Pavano and Aaron Small starting the season on the DL. The pieces are in place, Yankee baseball is on the way... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Options MVP Difficulty No Strike Zone No Hot/Cold Zones Variable Strike Zone On Blown Umpire Calls On Variable "Stuff" On Mods Tywiggins' Schedule Updater Tywiggins' Team Changer TheSpungo's Glove Pack 3.0 Kennyess' Wood Bats 69Yanks' Yankee Stadium Roll Call Trues' YES '06 Overlay Trues' MLB Ball MVP06 ILF Totte's Ultimate Rosters 7.45 Plus Edition Big Shmooz models.big Hory's Total Portraits 2006 Complete Set KC's Total MLB 1.09 DaDonch's Portrait Transactions Update Sliders User Pitch Meter Difficulty +50 User Control +50 User Pitcher Fatigue -20 CPU Control +10 CPU Swing Frequency +10 User Contact -5 User Power -5 CPU Outfielder Speed -5 User Arm Strength +20 CPU Arm Strength +20 User Baserunning Speed +20 CPU Baserunning Speed +20 User Steal Speed +20 CPU Steal Speed +20 User Steal Delay -3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Offense - The Yankees have had great lineups before, recently as well, but this year will be possibly the greatest offensive output since the days of Murderer's Row. It starts with new Yankee Johnny Damon, followed by Yankee Captain Derek Jeter, who has driven in over 100 runs per season from the 2 spot. The lineup is extremely deep when it goes from Abreu to Rodriguez, then Giambi. That is a powerful lineup. But then They have two more power hitters in Gary Sheffield and Hideki Matsui, which is insane. Then the order is rounded out by Jorge Posada and Robinson Cano, both are also capable of hitting in the middle of the order. - Defense - The Yankees have Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez on the left side of the infield, both Gold Glove winners. The right side is not so great with Robinson Cano and Jason Giambi manning first and second. And having Johnny Damon's arm in center is no plus, but his speed and range make up for it. Bobby Abreu and Hideki Matsui are anything but below average, and Jorge Posada seems to be a better defensive catcher after spring training. - Starting Rotation - The key to the rotation is health, especially for the elderly Randy Johnson and Mike Mussina, a powerful 1-2 punch. Chien-Ming Wang will be the third starter, followed by Jaret Wright. Corey Lidle will man the final spot, but if he doesn't hold his own, Aaron Small will come up from AAA to take his spot. Or maybe Sidney Ponson. - Bullpen - The bullpen does not seem to be an issue, as Mariano Rivera, the game's greatest closer, has a great bridge in Kyle Farnsworth and possibly Tanyon Sturtze here and there. Longman Ron Villone will use his experience to best hitters, and Scott Proctor looks promising with a 97 mph fastball and good sink and curve. Free agent Mike Myers adds the lefty specialist, as he is arguably the best in baseball in that role, dominating lefties over the years. - Catchers - The catching situation is solid with All-Star Jorge Posada handling the everyday duties, and backup Sal Fasano is a solid hitter and defensive backstop, but his fancy handlebar moustache will have to go. Posada's offense has seemed to decline over the last three years, but during spring training he showed promise of maybe 25 home run power to come this year. - Bench - The outfield is in a surplus, with Bubba Crosby, Bernie Williams, Melky Cabrera, Aaron Guiel, and possibly Craig Wilson being capable of handling all outfield positions. The infield is well represented in Nick Green, Miguel Cairo, and Craig Wilson. Put Andy Phillips in there too, he should get plenty of at-bats this year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here is the Yankees' 25-Man Roster as seen on MLB.com: * Bad news has struck, as Tanyon Sturtze has been diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff. He will likely start the season on the 60-Day DL, accompanied by other injured players like Aaron Small (hamstring), Carl Pavano (arm), and Octavio Dotel (Tommy John surgery). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here is the New York Yankees' Lineups and Starting Rotation: Johnny Damon CF Derek Jeter SS Bobby Abreu RF Alex Rodriguez 3B Jason Giambi 1B Gary Sheffield DH Hideki Matsui LF Jorge Posada C Robinson Cano 2B ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ace: Randy Johnson No. 2 Mike Mussina No. 3 Chien-Ming Wang No. 4 Jaret Wright No. 5 Cory Lidle Longman: Ron Villone Lefty Specialist: Mike Myers Middle Relief: Scott Proctor Setup Man: Kyle Farnsworth Closer: Mariano Rivera ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Aaron Small (Hamstring), Carl Pavano (Shoulder, Arm), and Octavio Dotel (Tommy John) will start the season on the Disabled List. I will also be playing important games, meaning I will play at least one Red Sox game in every series, same for the Mets, and other big teams. Or great pitching duels, and holiday games such as the 4th of July. I love your sig, btw.. and this coming from an avid Mets fan Thanks, I felt like someone needed to say it. D-Unit
Sorry guys, no updates today. I have been tracking all the cyberface #'s for UR 7.1 because I am using standard edition. I will get to the lineups as soon as this is done, and once I properly global edit the player's ages so that when the schedule updater ages everyone one year, it will be at the proper age for 2006. D-Unit
All right, I am working on the team analysis. Once my cyberface/global edit problem is done, it will be up.

D-Unit
Yeah, I am having an annoying time with moving around with the MLB format to the way I want it, inserting text, etc. And for some reason I am having trouble with Global Edit on my rosters (UR 7.1) because the ages are getting screwed up with the schedule updater (not blaming it on the schedule updater, it's an issue I need to fix with MVPEdit). So be a little patient. And Geolink, what happened with your Yankee dynasty? I was looking forward to it.

Would you guys mind if I waited until UR 7.2 comes out? It's only a few days before it comes out and I doubt I will have all write ups and MVPEdit/cyberface problems fixed before then. D-Unit
Okay, now I have some kind of crashing problem when I play the game. It always freezes a certain amount of time into a game, no matter how fast or slow I play it. And the sad thing is I have no idea what I installed to get it, since I have been inserting multiple things into my game. I guess that I should wait for the final version of the MVP 06 mod, then clean out the folder and reinstall everything. I am sorry to keep delaying this dynasty guys, I want to get it going so bad.
