Hey i'm getting a new computer..well, i just got one a month ago an AMD 64 3700+ with a gig of ram but i'm thinking of getting a duel core 3800+. I'm tempted cause i work at Tiger direct and i'm always seeing these great systems that comes in every week. So my question is how is MVP on a duel core...i've heard that some games dont' even work.

microsoft has a hotfix that optimizes dual core performance and allows most games to work... mvp and madden run great for me... still tryin to figure out nba live... you might want to post in the tech talk section next time... i currently have a question in there that might interest you

Just built me a new rig a couple of weeks ago. I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800, 2gig DDR RAM, and an ATI Raedon X1600 PRO. Runs the game like a charm. Haven't ran into any probs running my games. Oblivion is just flat out awesome. And lets not talk about PREY. WOW.

You will be fine man.

You work at TD? Dude, you should be getting discounts on tons of stuff.

Tell me about it. TD and newegg.com are my two favorite online places to shop for my hardware.

I checked out microsoft's site but I couldn't find the fix. Do you remember exactly where it is?

Maestro23 - I am running the exact system you are including the x1600.

But I do have a slight stutter when playing at Fenway. I have everything maxed out including 4xAA/ 4xAF with full trilinear. Do have any stutter

problems playing MVP.

Yep, when in doubt... google it :wtg:

And if you run a search within microsoft.com you will find this among other "dual core" stuff: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=896256
