Managing Games/Play as one guy

I'm trying to go through a "career" but only as one guy. I want to get every at bat as my guy so what I plan on doing is managing the game until I come up to bat; once at bat I will just join the game and take my cuts. When i'm done i'll go back to managing the game.

Has anyone else tried this? I'm looking to see if anyone has tried this with sliders or a particular datafile to get realistic results during the managing process.

Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated...thanks

I take pitches..i just said take my cuts as a figure of speech.

The loading screens aren't long for me at all either. It helps me go through a season much faster than playing all of the games. And i don't like the feel of simming most games and playing only a few(the season stats have nothing to do with me then and i might as well sim them all)

Another thing I do sometimes is just put the game on cpu vs cpu while i am watching tv or something like that and then once i see my guy is coming up I switch control.

It's infinitely more fun to do this with a pitcher. I've done a couple of dynasties (in 2012 right now) with a relief pitcher who works his way up from single A, and those are a ton of fun. Just means you have to manage a lot, but it's perfect if you just want to pitch occasionally and otherwise be a GM.

Yeah i was thinking about doing it with a closer and just take control in the 9th and put him in when necessary.

Sean O = When you did your dynasties, were you getting realistic stats and such from the managed games? or if you just watched any...
