Phear
I'm just curious what the data file controls, and can "anyone" modify it? If so, how? Thanks.

Phear
please see my sig... I have not been able to get the info I'm looking for from the search. I can't seem to be able to use the boolean properly. I'm sure it's me, but I can't get "AND" and "NOT" to work as I do in other forums.
edm
Yes, anyone can modify it, but it's not very user friendly unless you know what you are looking for. You can change anything from camera angles, to specific gameplay settings, like the pitch meter to make it more easy or difficult, some physic settings, etc.. Like I said though, it's not like going into the game and changing a few sliders, everything is value coded, so if you don't know what you are looking for it can be difficult. Ghostrider
The datafile allows a lot to be edited. Here are some of the more common changes within a datafile: -Ball physics -Positioning of fielders -Camera angles -Modifications to hitting/pitching -Many more! Search for datafile in the downloads section as well as the forums and you'll come across quite a few modified datafiles that make the game more realistic. My favorite is MaddysDaddy's datafile with my custom sliders.
Phear
Thank you both for the info. I have tried a few different datafiles, in combination with my sliders settings. I'm trying to find the most realistic ones I can for a cpu pitcher vs. a cpu batter. The ones I have now don't seem to be all that realistic quite often. Even with the pitchers settings all the way up, and the batters all the way down, there is still a lot of contact/hits. It also seems like I either have a homerun fest, where every type of hitter can smack one over the wall, or no homeruns at all. Anyway, thanks again for your help. I tried to use the search feature but could not get the results narrowed down to a usable number. jhath, please feel free to let me know what a good term to use would be, for the search I was trying to do. Thanks.
