ekravitz
I seem to be doing ok with the sliders I have for fielding, throwing, my hitting, etc. I have an issue that may be one in the same with each other. My pitchers have a heck of a time striking out hitters and in that same boat, the opposition never takes enough pitches. they swing at everything. Iam currently using the sliders provided by Hoop 27. Are there better sliders or a datafile set I can use that helps me with this problem? I play on All-Star mode. Thanks
Dom2662
Go to your sliders, go to swinging frequency (CPU) and put it to 34 then the CPU will swing at bad pitches (some) and look at pitches and you can get a K. Here's a tip. Use the fastball (about 93+ MPH) at 2 strike counts and the'll look at it, or swing right through it. Hope this helped.
Guest
If you have a pitcher with a good curve, throw it down for a ball, but not too low or they won't bite.

Usually, if a batter is late on a fastball on the outside corner for a strike, dont throw a changeup. Speeds up the batter's bat. Try throwing another fastball outside of the strikezone to see if he will chase. If you get ahead 0-2 on a batter, bust him in inside to set up a slider/curveball on the outside part of the plate. Im not sure if it will work in MVP, but it does work in real life situation.
ekravitz
thanks everyone. i'll try all your suggestions. in normal baseball, the pitcher wants to get ahead with first pitch strikes but in this game, if you do that, they hit it. they never take the dang pitch
Dom2662
Just use a slider on the corner for the 1st pitch. They seem to chase.

elduque
Not to say if I was really El Duque you will have a very hard time to hit one of those sliders "I" throw that break in the outside corner It works 99% as well as the curve down low, the changeup they hit in Canada if they are playing in USA and viceverza, use it at your own risk Wanna strike out Pujols, three stright down low curves (with a heck of a curve baller, of course) Change your path as in real life, the second time they come to hit, just mix backwards (not excatly) the pitch secuence, the third time they come, wish you luck :)
