redsox
Hey all, I am trying to keep the Damon look (long hair look) after I install the MVP 06 mod. Here are the steps that I am taking to do this. Can someone please confirm these steps for me? Thank you. 1. Fresh install of MVP 05 2. Run bigGUI 3. Open models.big 4. Select the files for Damon (c065.fsh, c065.ord, c065.orl) - can someone please tell me if these files pertain to Damon? If not can you tell me how to find it? 5. Go to edit -> export (I am going to save it on my desktop) 6. Add the MVP 06 mod along with all the other mods that I want 7. Open bigGUI again 8. Open models.big 9. Import the 3 files that I stored on my desktop 10.Finally change the "no" under packed to "yes" for those 3 files and hit rebuild Just wanted to make sure that these are steps I would take before I actually do it. Thank you.
big shmooz
Ok, most things you said are correct, but some are not. You will have to compress the 3 files you exported to your desktop (use eazip to do that)before importing them back into your models.big. Secondly, do not use biggui to import your files, use eagraph instead. Thirdly, NEVER rebuild the models.big. If you do that, you will corrupt the models.big file. (if you are not using biggui... AND I EMPHASIZE THAT YOU SHOULD NOT USE BIGGUI, this won't be an issue anyway)
redsox
Thank you very much for the help. Also can you please confirm Damon's file number? I am pretty sure it 065, I just wanted to make sure. Thanks again.
big shmooz
Yes, the long hair is 65. (065 in the 3 cyberface files) One more thing, my advice to you is (as it is to everybody) when you are not importing anything into the models.big, you should keep it in read only mode. Otherwise over time the file becomes corrupt.
jonyrotten
"Thirdly, NEVER rebuild the models.big. If you do that, you will corrupt the models.big file. (if you are not using biggui... I'm new to it so I'm wondering
jonyrotten
Other than the never rebuilding the models.big are there other issues?

I'm new to it so I'm wondering You can use eazip to compress before you insert the files with eagraph. The warning is because using biggui has been confirmed to cause the models.big to become corrupt over time. Then the game starts crashing. Biggui is fine if all you want to use it for, is to exract files or for viewing files. But to use it to insert files is very risky.

redsox
big shmooz (or anybody) - I was wondering if you could help me out again. I am trying to give Damon the long hair look after I install UR7.2+ but it does not seem to work. Here are my steps. Hope you can help me. Sorry for the trouble. 1. Fresh install of MVP 05 (did not delete the folder in my documents) 2. Use EAGraph to open models.big and extract 3 files (c065.fsh, c065.ord, c065.orl) 3. Put them in a new folder on my desktop along with EAZIP. 4. Edit a batch file to have the one that big shmooz mentioned in his readme file 5. Run it and it compresses the 3 files 6. Install MVP 06 mod and install UR7.2+ 7. use EAGraph to import the 3 files (used the import wizard tab and selected the one that said, "Add files to an external TAR archive" 8. It did everything and I then clicked on finish 9. Went into my data folder and and checked the "read only" option for my models.big Went into the game and went to manage rosters in the main menu and just went to edit player and went to Damon. He does not have the long hair. He has the updated face (the clean face look with no long hair). I even tried to do this after reseting the roster. I used the mbe file that Totte provided along with his roster update to open it in MVPEdit. When I went to Damon he had a number 202 for the audio/photo. Do I change the 3 files that I extracted to this particular number? What am I doing wrong in the above steps? Thanks for the help. EDIT: I changed the file name of the 3 files that I extracted to say c029 instead of c065. I re-compressed them and used Kraw's installer as well as EAGraph to isntall it into the game. Now I was able to get the beard installed but I am still not able to get the long hair.
big shmooz
You forgot to edit your roster to make it read Damon as cyberface # 65. It's reading it as cyberface # 29 (which is the face without the long hair) The game will only give Damon long hair if it sees it as cyberface # 65. In fact any player you would give cyberface # 65 will automatically have long hair.

Just open MVPEdit, then open the .mbe file that Totte has in his +download and goto appearance and change the number from 29 to 65 there. Also once I change it to 65 should I extract the .dat files and then paste it over the files that are in my database folder? Thanks again.
big shmooz
Exactly. Export the roster to your database folder after doing the edit.
redsox
I must really be doing something wrong. I made the change in MVPEdit. Then I just hit export and point to a folder on my desktop as the location where I want the files to be extracted to. Now if I just copy the roster.dat file and paste it into my databse folder and overwrite the previous one, no changes are made. I took a look inside the roster.dat folder and cannot seem to see anything related appearance. I also tried to copy the 19 .dat files that I just extracted using MVPEdit and pasted it into my database folder and overwrote the previous ones. When I go into my game and try to edit Johnny Damon or play against the Yankees with Damon in the lineup, the game crashes to the desktop. I actually used Kraw's installer to install the 3 damon files before I changed the face number to 65. Should I be doing it the other way around? Thanks again for the help. big shmooz
Point it to your database folder. when you hit export. Take the 3 cyberface files I will be uploading for you. Unzip the file. Make sure your models.big is not corrupt. If your models.big is set to read only, uncheck it. If it is not set to read only, it's probably corrupt. Use eagraph to insert the cyberface files into the models.big. No need to change anything. The put the models.big to read only again. Make sure your .mbe roster is not corrupt Then go into mvpedit & change the cyberface number to 065 in the face section under the appearance tab. Export your roster to your database folder. You're done.
redsox
Thanks a lot for the help. I think my models.big was corrupt because I didn't uncheck the read only option before I installed the the cyberface. I figured it automatically did unchecked it for you. But anyway, I will try this once I get back home this evening. Again, thanks a bunch.
redsox
Shmooz, I got it working! I just extracted the mbe file, and the data files over again and its working now. Thanks a bunch for the help.
big shmooz
Glad it's working for you. That means you probably did not export the files to the database folder correctly on previous attempts. Make sure you always DOUBLEclick the database folder after you hit "export" in mvpedit.
