--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the monitor I currently have and am replacing Compaq FP 5315

specs...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I boldfaced the specs i belive important and I am asking some of you guys who know your stuff if I will see a drastic improvement in the 19" monitor while gaming/normal use

45ms respond time compared to 2ms seems like a major imrovement

15" to 19" is pretty good

350:1 contrast ratio to 2000:1 contrast ratio is huge

what do you guys think???

DVI-D input <-------is that a digital input

:wtg:

Make sure you get a DVI cable (unless the monitor comes with one) so you can use the digital input. By the way, what kind of video card do you have.

hey NDfightingIrish, do you have a flat-panel monitor now? and how much did you pay for the new one? I have the same video card and Im really curious to see how your new monitor works because I'm looking for a new monitor.

does the dvi cable plug into the same port on the video card

The DVI cable will go from the DVI port on the card to the DVI input on the back of your monitor. This will allow you to use the digital signal.

ohhhh man i just looked on bestbuy.com to see how much dvi cables cost (60-80$)....NO THANKS, I don't need to spend another 80$

fewww... good thing the monitor I ordered comes with the dvi cable

Good deal, that will save you some money. Most people don't realize that they need the DVI cable for the digital signal.

hey chicago yeah i have a 15" flat pannel with a response of 45 ms

The new 19" samsung (gaming monitor) I ordered has 2 ms responce, 2000:1 contrast ratio and some other awsome features/specs and it ran me for 269.00 at bestbuy.com

sounds like alot but you get what you pay for

I think the 45 ms ---> 2ms will be quite noticible

btw its backordered so i wont be able to let you know how it works for 1-2 weeks
