Wrigley Field glitch??

Recommended Posts

Was playing a game at Wrigley, and hit a homer into the "basket" above the ivy in the outfield. The announcers gave the homer call, the fireworks blasted into the air.... then up popped the "Ground Rule Double!" message.

The runner stopped at second, as the fireworks continued to go off in the distance. Then it cut to the animation of him crossing the plate... only for him to again be on second when the next batter came to bat, and he was indeed credited with a double.

Is it just a glitch in the game period, or something specific to the 2006 mod/stadium? Thats the first time ive ever hit one into the basket, so I couldnt tell you if its happened before. Anyone else come across this?

never had that one... however, I've seem to be able to hit to the wall and have them roll under the wall. ground rule double on those too

That's the ground rules at Wrigley when a ball rolls into the ivy and gets stuck.

Yes that has happened to me at least 3 or 4 times.... it is really frustrating!!

I also had another incident where the other team hit a foul pop and i slid near the stands to try to catch it. The annoncer said "and he makes the catch" but the "FOUL" sign came up. The next batter was announced but no actualy "out" was counted. Wierd stuff...
