Don't all of the Jays jerseys include black hats? If so, you gotta install KC's unis. Otherwise, nevermind.

Halladay had a good game there, better than Kazmir. But that's baseball.

Dynasty notice: I've switched to the non-walkfix version of the datafile I had and maybe that will help with the pitching, although it's going quite well during the time that I had no data file at all (the three 2-0 games). Hopefully it'll help me with contact and things along those lines. Also I've been using KC's uniform mod (Total MLB) the past few games and it's working now with The Big O's Fenway Park, oddly enough so I assume it was the combination of more than one mod that caused the crashing.

Jays Take Second Straight Over Champs

Toronto (4-6) @ Chicago (7-3)

April 15th, 2006 - Game 11/162

Final score: Toronto 3, Chicago 2

CHICAGO -- Roy "Doc" Halladay and Mark Buerhle battled their way though a pitcher's duel all afternoon long that seemed to go back and forth. The Jays jumped out to an early lead in the third when John McDonald hit a solo homer off Buerhle. The White Sox would come back to tie in the fifth on a solo homer from Scott Podsednik, his second in as many games. Troy Glaus answered quickly in the next inning, homering to deep center to give the Jays back a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the inning, Jim Thome pulled a solo home run off Halladay to tie it up again. In eighth inning, Reed Johnson hit a home run for the Jays to give them back a 3-2 and ultimately chasing Buehrle after the very next pitch where he hit Alex Rios. The Jays would hold the lead as Justin Speier and B.J. Ryan pitched the final 1 2/3 innings to preserve the victory for Halladay as he improves to 2-0. He went 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, walked none and struck out 11. Mark Buehrle was nearly as going in the loss (2-1). He went 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, hit a batter, didn't walk anyone and also struck out 11. Ryan got his 6th save in as many tries.

WP: Roy Halladay (2-0)

LP: Mark Buehrle (2-1)

SV: B.J. Ryan (6)

Box Score

In the Clubhouse:

"I pitched well to both sides of plate and kept the ball down. When I got two strikes on 'em I threw a lot of curves to get strikeouts." -> Roy Halladay

"He's a horse. Every time he pitches we feel like we can win. He threw a hell of game for us today." -> John Gibbons (Manager)

"He really had that curveball working tonight. He made me look silly a couple times." -> White Sox RF Jermaine Dye (0-for-3, 3Ks vs. Halladay)

Next game:

A.J. Burnett (1-1, 4.50 ERA) vs. Freddy Garcia (1-0, 1.26 ERA) in the series finale at 1PM tomorrow.

Down on the Farm:

The following minor league moves were made:

OF Tony Miller reassigned to AA from AAA.

OF Ron Davenport has been promoted to AAA.

Miller struggled offensively for AAA Syracuse (mostly as the DH) and will be asked to play CF full-time in AA.

Davenport was hitting almost .400 with 2 homers and 8 RBI in 8 games. He spent all of last season in AA. He's expected to split time between RF, 1B and DH.

Box Score

Team movement (after the game):

RHP Shaun Marcum recalled from AAA

RHP Francisco Rosario optioned to AAA

LHP Davis Romero promoted to AAA

RHP Ben Howard reassigned to AA

RHP Jordan De Jong reassigned to AA

RHP Justin James reassigned to High-A

I'm contemplating shaking up the bench before the series and sending down someone. I may even recall Russ Adams although he's hitting only around .200 in AAA.

Lookin' good man. Gotta catch up to those Sox.

I got off to a really bad start 3-6 through my first three series, losing all of them. That's the whole reason why I am only .500. Since then I've gone 4-1 and squared the record.

Jays Rocked by BoSox

Boston 12, Toronto 4

I don't really feel like writing up a report on this game. They just seemed to find all the holes in the infield and got a lot of cheap basehits. They also hit a few home runs. I'm really pissed off at how the Jays lost today and I guess I couldn't concentrate that well in this game.

Box Score

Next up: Jon Lester (1-0) vs. Roy Halladay (2-0) in game 2 of the series.
