Guest
My Lineup Just the A's lineup. I dislike stacking up my team with stars because there is just no point in smashing a team with HRs after HRs.

JoeRudi26
My Lineup Just the A's lineup. I dislike stacking up my team with stars because there is just no point in smashing a team with HRs after HRs. Ditto. Just curious Guest, how does your starting lineup look? Heres mine: 1. Mark Kotsay (CF) 2. Milton Bradley (LF) 3. Eric Chavez (3B) 4. Frank Thomas (DH) 5. Nick Swisher (1B) 6. Jason Kendall © 7. Bobby Crosby (SS) 8. Marco Scutaro (2B) 9. Jay Payton (RF) I platoon Adam Melhuse ©, Mark Ellis (2B), Dan Johnson (2B), Antonio Perez (infield) Of course, these lineups are subject to change depending on opponents pitching, but this is generally what I go with. ixcuincle
Fair trades on Washington Nationals , Year 2 I posted my lineup for another thread a few minutes ago and I'm tired so I set my batting order as follows: 1 someone who can get on base (M. Scuttaro) 2 someone who can hit well (V. Castilla / G. Atkins) 3 someone who hits well (J. Guillen) 4 someone who hits home runs (K. Griffey Jr) 5 someone with power (D. Young / N. Johnson?) 6 someone who can't hit as well as 1-5 (A. Berroa / D. Cruz) 7 someone who can't hit well (J. Damon) 8 someone who can't hit well (B. McCann) 9 Pitcher Damon used to bat leadoff until I got angry at his struggles at bat and brought him down to 7. As you can see , I mostly neglect attibutes such as speed , and I don't run or steal a lot of bases with the first 5 either. Ryan church comes off the bench , as does Jose Castillo at times. I rarely use speed or try to steal bases until after the 5th.
cruecu
that's funny, i absolutely crush balls with Damon..he has 17 homeruns in about a month and a half to two months..i've never seen anything like it..A-Rod has 10, Jeter has 7. Damon's sweet stroke puts it over the short porch in right all the time..i've found him to be an amazing hitter..i want to move him to 3rd in the lineup, but i don't know if he's just on a streak or not. Damon has hit many home runs , and has 18 , 2 away from the team lead of 20. It's just that he didn't get on base that much when he was batting leadoff , and I had to push him back. He would be higher but I like having Young 5th and Berroa 6th.

8ball
How long is Betancourt suspended for, and for what? I had Jered Weaver on the mound and Laynce Nix was trying to sacrifice bunt, and I hit him with a pitch. He charged the mound and Nix and Betancourt get ejected but Weaver is still in the game. When I went back to the menu it said Betancourt was suspended for 6 games. But now he's off suspension and back in the lineup.

JoeRudi26
glad to see som A's fans around. Likewise. It's unbelievable to me that they did absolutely nothing regarding trades, considering the structure of the AL West this year and having a chance to get back into the post season. It's obvious Zito was on the market, and with a solid (but not great) pitching staff without him, it would have been wise to option for a big bat, but the A's Brass have a habit of 'pacifying' their fans and pretending to really care: 1.The signing of Eric Chavez for 66 Million a couple of years ago, but letting Hudson and Mulder go. 2. Signing an aging and almost forgotten Frank Thomas to cover their a@@ on the power theory. 3. Keeping Mark Ellis and Marco Scutaro around instead of going after a good glove/run producing second baseman, which is WAY overdue. 4. Aquiring Antonio Perez and Milton Bradley was really a non producing move, considering Ellis and Scutaro could easily platoon Crosby at SS and/or Chavez at 3B. I'm still stumped with the Bradley move. I saw no reason for another outfielder when you already have Kotsay, Swisher, Payton, and Bobby Kielty that put up just as good numbers. My point is, these guys were cheap and it 'looked' like Oakland was moving on something, when in reality they were just shuffling around the cash. 5. Aquiring Kendall gave me some hope, but again he's aging and really hasn't been a run producer in quite some time, although Oakland took on his big salary. With all this being said, the A's have been a second half team for the last few years, and I honestly believe that the management banks on part of this to make up for not pushing down the stretch. All in all, I'm really not too sure if they really care as much as the fans do.

(SP) 2) We would definately lack power if we hadn't signed Thomas but I'm glad they didn't let other teams like ANA get him. 3) I hvae no problem with scoot, but not much of an Ellis fan. 4) Milton IMO is better than Kielty. If you saw these last few games, Milton has been doing well for us. If he keeps it up, no doubt it'll be worth it. 5) Melhuse should of just filled in there. They would probably have Identical #s. I guess they REALLY REALLY wanted his veteranship with the young guns we have,

nanner
What fun is it stacking lineups? I find it no fun at all. My lineup for my Indians dynasty... 1. Sizemore (CF) 2. Micheals (LF) 3. Hafner (DH) 4. V-Mart (1B) His defense is garbage at catching these days 5. Peralta (SS) 6. Burnitz (RF) haha, ya, I got Burnitz instead of Blake. Lefthanded bat. 7. A. Marte (3B) Soon he'll be taking over the 6 spot. 8. Shoppach © 9. Luna (2B) Bench C - Garko 2B/SS - Vasquez UTIL - Hollandsworth OF and platoon for lefties with Burnitz - Lew Ford Rotation 1. Sabathia 2. Westbrook 3. Lee 4. Byrd 5. Sowers (my best pitcher on my team too, a rook) Bullpen LR - Sean Burnett (got him with Burnitz and Marte in a trade with Pirates) LR - Fausto Carmona (my great long reliever rook) MR - Rafael Betancourt MR - Damaso Marte (lefty specialist) MR - Fernando Cabrera SU - Guillermo Mota CL - Me. With my own cyberface and everything. I have a sick changeup. I mostly made the one trade with the Pirates. I traded Blake, Choo and Boone for Burnitz, Marte and Sean Burnett. I wanted a lefthanded bat, and Burnitz is just a fun guy to have haha. for his batting stance like Manny and wutnot.
