Game by Game Stats

Hey guys.

I thought I would post this here since it doesn't seem like a mod. if this needs to be moved elsewhere, please do so.

Over this past season, I've created an Excel spreadsheet with a list of my hitters on it and how many hits they have per a game. This helps with a bit with who has been hitting well and how many games a player has hit in straight (Being a stat buff (but aren't we all?)). Since MVP doesn't do that, I've been doing it by hand (waiting for the end of the game or counting it up as I play) and filling it in.

I've become more ambitious and have now decided to do a small Excel project. Instead of how many hits, I'm going ot be doing what kind of hits, RBIs, things like that for each game. I'm also going to keep track of pitching stats as well.

Now, my goal with this is to find out how a player is during in a certain time periods (like the month of May, or over the past week).

Would there be much interest in doing this and uploading it here to the MVPMods community, or am I doing this to entertain myself?

Since you have to enter in all your own information (I don't know how to mess with MVP files nor find out how they work from game-game) you can use this for any variety of baseball games (or even in real life).

Things eventually I want to do with this:

- Enter in dates (or games) and find out how a batter/pitcher has been during those games (like since May 4th, or so far in this series)

- Along with those lines, find out who has been the hottest/coldest during said time.

- Enter opponents in and find out how a player as done against said opponent this year so far.

- Right now, I'm working on a 162 game format, but soon it will be 22 game (for spring training), and playoffs as well as minor leauge games (for those who play those games)

- If you brought up somebody or traded for somebody, you can enter their stats in and find out season totals/totals since with the team.

- Who's getting hits during games (like what I have now, (I'll put a screen cap up later).

- All of this interconnected so that you enter in data one area and it sets it all around.

Batting stats I'm keeping track of:

AB, 1 (single), 2 (double), 3 (triple), 4 (HR), BB (includes IBB), SO, R, RBI, SB, AVG., SLG., OBP., OPS.

Pitching Stats:

IP, H, R, ER, BB, K, HR, W, L, S, BS, H, ERA, WHIP, GB:FB Ratio, K:BB Ratio

Again, you would have to keep track some of this during a game (if you don't want to keep track of ground ball/fly ball ratios, I'd understand), but that leaves this open for people to follow in real life or their company softball leauges.

People interested? Yeah, Nay? Would love feedback as well. If people are interested, I'll keep you updated until I finish.

No, I'm tyring to make it easier to record your own dynasty stats.

It's to help you find out who a person has been during an amount of time (if they're goning on a tear) or how well someone has been against a certain team. All MVP (and all other tools) tell you are the season stats (or otherwise what they did at each stop/team), but not for any given amount of time.

If there's a program out there that already does this, then please pass it on, but I didn't find anything.

Well, here's the issue: I don't know how to do this besides entering in your own information. I can't find a away to get into the MVP files and make it do it works automatically. That's the whole issue with this (besides trying to get Excel to work, but that's something I can figure out).

If anyone CAN get info from the game into a speadsheet (different then MVPSavReader or the Box Score Extractor (or if they can get the box score box to get into a spreadsheet or access database)), then let's chat.

You should chat withith TyWiggins about it because he made the Boxscore
