Rags
On the ign boards someone posted that he kept skipping over the #5 guy in dynasty and eventually they didnt' require the #5 spot in the rotation...it could simply be left empty....has anyone else done this? Totte
Never heard of something like that except in real life. I highly doubt that the spot "could be left empty" just like that... :)
D-Unit
you could always go to the starter menu in the game before you play and just choose someone instead of the No. 5 starter.
Rags
you could always go to the starter menu in the game before you play and just choose someone instead of the No. 5 starter. i know, that's what he said he did continously and eventually it just automatically didn't use the 5 guy its on the ign.com forums in the baseball board who did it
Friedman
I don't think that there is any way that a spot can just "disappear." Programs like MVPEdit would probably have problems if that were true. EDIT: But the game could skip him, like most teams skip their #5 guy, but there will still be a field for him in roster management.
cybernetic
The only way you could do this in game is if you never get high pitch counts and the #1 guy would be back to full stamina by the 4th day. Typically for me, I will get high pitch counts because I try to nibble a lot when I have 2 strikes on the guy to force them to chase bad pitches. The CPU won't swing at them very often on All-Star. It all depends how effective they are for how long I leave them out there though.
medric822
no, because I use a 3 man rottion, and it didn't happen.
redsox
Actually, there is a way to have a 4 man rotation but the thing is you will have only 24 active players in your roster. All you need is Tywiggins importer/exporter program and the simple knowledge of editing the extra.DAT file. For example, say I want a 4 man rotation for the Boston Red Sox. Here are the steps. 1. UseTywiggins program to export .DAT files from your dynasty. 2. Figure out which pitcher you want to take out of the rotation (for me - David Wells). 3. Open the extra.DAT file using notepad and go to the pitcher. 4. There should be a text file named injuries in the folder - look into that and give your pitcher an injury and the injury time. 5. For my example I am going to give David Wells an injury time of 150 days (close to the whole season). 6. Import the .DAT files back into your dynasty. Now when you go to your pitching screen, you would have 4 pitchers in four slots and the fifth slot (since I set Wells to be my 5th starter) will be empty. Do not put your injured player on the DL because this will not work if you do. Usually when there is a slot that needs to be filled, the game won't let you exit out of the screen. But in this case it will let you get out with just the 4 slots being filled and it will also let you play the games. I personally don't go with a 4 man rotation. I just tried this out to see if there is a way to do and there is. Ofcourse the negative aspect of this is that you will only have 24 active players since the other one is injured for the whole season.
