JoeyMcM93
I'll be watching this one... KC, Dan, and Filthy would be good judges. I second them as judges. Good luck guys!
Dan
Here are the people who have so far expressed their interest in participating in another sig competition: -Hokieboy -Big Jay -Bama (?) -d1git4l_cha0s (?) -medric822 (?) -Guest (?) -Friedman -Tigers94 (?) -Termnittle Judges -Dan -Kccitystar -Filthy57 I'll setup the sign-up thread now. It seems like we'll be able to fill 10 spots, so THE FIRST 10 PEOPLE TO SIGN UP WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE. Once the spots are filled, you're out. We tentatively have 9 participants + three judges. I'd like to get one more participant so we have ten, then we'll get this rolling. I still think that TribeTime (or whatever his new name is) would be a good judge seeing that he was doing some stuff over at NSL for a while - I'll try to get ahold of him and see if he can judge. If he can, I think Filthy should drop down to the #10 spot and TribeTime can be the third judge - nothing against you, Filthy, but I've seen some pretty good stuff in the Sigs thread lately...I think there are a few guys who could give you a nice challenge I'll let the thread go until all 10 spots are filled. Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. -dan
Dan
I still have to talk to KC and Filthy first about prizes, rules, etc. I already have the post typed up in Notepad, just gotta wait to talk to them first. -dan
Dan
KC said he can probably do the rules tonight, I still have to confirm prizes + rules with Filthy. Probably tomorrow the thread will be up. -dan P.S. - did Termnittle make that sig of his on the previous page? That's real good.

Guest
Hey Dan, now that School has started and I have lots of study to keep up with, I don't think I'll be able to whip up sigs. often. I'd still like to be involved though so maybe if I can be some type of Judge? That way I can still get involved but doesn't take too much time away from my studies. Thanks. Dan
BigJay, take your time bud. I expect this to start up in a week, not a few hours. I stopped making sigs when I got tied up in all this web business - I had no time. Now that summer's over and I'm caught up (mostly) on the freelance work I had to do I've got some more time. I just make random sigs now. Usually. Guest, we already have three judges, so unless we let Filthy compete, which I don't see a problem with, you may have to sit this one out. Sorry to hear it. -dan
Tigers94
How long would the competition last?(A rough estimate is good)
Dan
Well I'll have to wait for the rules, but I'm guessing a week, maybe a tiny bit more than that. When the signup thread is made, I'll put something on there that if you're participating to start making your sigs. I think it should be set up so that we don't have to wait three days for somebody to get around to making a sig; they should have 3-4 ready beforehand. -dan
Tigers94
then,I'll probably do it.

I was really looking forward to seeing your stuff in this one. I think we should let Filthy compete, that way Guest is still involved. Does anyone have a problem with Filthy competing? Dan
Yeah I think when people see that Guest can't compete, they'd be glad to have him as judge. Filthy, you OK with that?
Guest
Is it possible to hvae 4 Judges? Since there is no rules set yet, maybe we can twitch the amount of Judges we can have.
Dan
We want to keep it at an odd number, and things may go wrong when you have five judges. We'll stick with an American Idol theme and just keep it to three. -dan
Kccitystar
Here are the rules. 1. Dimensions - You will have the opportunity to create a signature as big as you want, as long as it does not exceed the limit of 475x125 pixels. Anything bigger than that will not be acceptable, no matter how flashy or creative it looks. 2. Coordination - Yes, I would like to see some form of coordination with your signature. For example, if I make a signature image with Delmon Young of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, sure, it would look good in yellow or orange, however his team's colors are green and blue, and the uniform he has on will not coordinate with my background. Get where I'm going with this? 3. Font Selection - Many signatures I have seen often do not have a good font that would go along with the design provided, or the font used does not really coordinate with the design or creative direction the artist intended to emphasize. I suggest fooling around with many fonts by going to dafont.com and installing many of the fonts there. Among the ones I use are Scriptina, Marcelle, and many of the pixel/bitmap fonts. Please be aware that you can always preview text on DaFont.com so you know what you're getting. I will be doing thorough judging, and I'll be looking out for this one. If the theme you're going for is an old english setting, I'd like to see some old english fonts instead of Times New Roman. 4. Design - This is probably the one that will stand out the most, seeing as this is the "meat" of the signature. I'll be keeping an eye on how well your background is on your signature and how it compliments the pictures blended or not blended into your signature. I and Dan use many brushes, and sometimes use many renders to make our work stand out and give our work a unique style that most of you know and love. Deviantart.com and many other sites provide photoshop brushes for those of you that have Photoshop at your disposal. Deviantart.com's Photoshop Brush Repository Deviantart.com's GIMP brush repository 5. Creativity - This is by far what's most important and what I will be looking forward to seeing from all of you sig-makers. The worst thing any artist can ever do is to repeat the same design or continue to use the same style. There are times where you may think that you have a set style and believe that "if it ain't broke, it shouldn't be fixed". Some of you may use a method of just throwing things at the wall and hoping that whatever sticks should work. However in competition, you don't want to have the same signature style twice. Judges love diversity in your signatures and love watching you branch out of your original style into other methods. I have been witness to many sig battles on other forums and I have seen someone submit one signature with a certain style or layout, and the opposing guy submits a sig with the same exact layout. I will be looking for many abstract designs, and things that make your own sig stand out. Originality is the key, but repetitiveness will ruin the integrity of your work. After the signature contest ends, the first place winner will recieve a customized signature by yours truly, and 3 extra lines of signature space with the custom user title of "Sig Contest Winner". The second place winner will recieve a customized signature by Dan, and 2 extra lines of signature space with the custom user title of "Sig Contest Runner-Up" Prizes are subject to change but this is what I agree with right now. -KC

Dan
Thanks bro. Just so you guys know, I refuse to take a request with more than three players! Here are the things we still gotta take care of, then I think we'll be all set.. -Filthy not a judge, Guest take his place? -Notify admin of prizes (I'll take care of that) -Sign-up thread (in proper sub-forum) (I'll do that too) -Set date -dan
