praasch
if i resign a player during the season to a higher contract (ie, dontrelle willis from is ~$400k to a $2-3 mil/yr deal), is the salary then prorated for the rest of the season or will they hit you up for the total salary??? the reason i ask is, if i resign player with say a week or so to go in the season, it will save carrying the bigger contract through most of the season and save some cash... this is my first real amount of time spent on owners mode so looking for tips on it.... hope that made sense...any help would be appreciated! patrick
utahjazzno12fan
I believe that the game makes it 2-3 mill, the entire season, but I am not certain
JP_Frost
you will pay that raise for the entire season. Let's say you give Willis a 4 million dollar raise at the start of the season, your team's budget (or the money in the bank) is decreased by 4 mil. There's only one advantage to signing guys during the regular season, because they sometimes settle for cheaper contracts as opposed to what they ask for during the offseason. This varies though. mrmariner
I did not know that. I'm in the playoffs now, so I will have to look at my guys contracts and try to sign them cheap.
neojonas
I always found that they pretty much sign for the same thing if it's during the season or after the season.
Boof1027
I had a couple tonight sign for quite a bit less in the off season that what they wanted around the all star break. I am waiting to sign mine in the off-season.
