Treeroot
Anybody have problems with relays and cutoff throws from the outfield. I find it very frustrating when I make a relay throw from the outfield and the cutoff guy is in the infield and the ball rolls to him while the guy on first scores. pdub
Well you can increase your throw speed to counter it, but then you will run into different problems like too many double plays, drastically reduced infield hits, etc.. I hate the fact that when there is a runner on his way to score and I throw to the cutoff man that he is deep in the infield. He needs to be at the edge of the infield, especially when throwing from the wall. I don't think there is a way to edit their position either, but if there is, nobody has found it yet. cybernetic
What I really hate is that on a groundball single to an outfielder with a great arm.. the outfielder just takes too long to corral the ball and by the time he throws it he can't catch the guy running to third from first

I find it stupid to increase throw speed because any ground ball becomes an out. Also you can usually throw people out from right field. Its really unrealistic. pdub
You need a better datafile. With the right datafile, the ratio between throwing speed, infielder/outfielder speed, baserunning speed and groundball speed can be brought to a realistic level. That means no outfield assists to first base on a single. Slow grounders/choppers in to the hole between the SS and the 3Bman or down the line can still be beat out with fast runners. Potential increase in outfield assists to 3B/Homeplate, but a nice amount of runners holding on extra-basehits.
big shmooz
pdub, you beat me to the punch. The right datafile is the key to fixing this issue.
Sidewinder
One thing I wish EA would have done is have separate Arm Strength sliders for infielders and outfielders. Then we could have really dialed it in. I wish we could position the cut off men ourselves too. They are out of position sometimes and need to go further out into the outfield at times. JoeyMcM93
Sidewinder, I completely agree. Everyone, MD's datafile really cleaned up this problem for me. Give it a try.
