ronaldow
Hello Since downloading the MVP 06 beta version from krawtika to convert MVP 05 to 06 I have noticed one major difference. Everything is sweet apart from the pitching meter.....there seems to be a very small margin of error in pitching now...the green bit (which I think means pitch accuracy) is almost non-existent.....have you guys noticed this also....if so please advise as to my next step. Any help much appreciated!! P.s> Is there a patch or download out there to correct this...seriously it makes pitching impossible now and I'm sure I cant be the only one affected by this. Cheers. :? :? :?
Jim825
This occurs because the datafile was modified to reduce the "sweet spot" in the pitch meter, thus making the pitching more challenging. Were you using a modified datafile before you installed the MVP 06 mod? If so, just reinstall that datafile. If not, simply remove the datafile.txt file from your MVP Baseball 2005 data folder and you'll go back to using the default datafile settings. Abner6693
I myself personally like the new modifications in regards to pitching in the MVP 06 mod. In my opinion it makes it more challenging and also makes the game more realistic. However if you would like it to be the original way just either copy your original data.txt file that you were using before installing the mod or do a fresh install of MVP 2005. Also you can try going into the download section and there are several modified data files and I think that some of them are pretty close to the original from the game with a few minor tweaks but atleast the pitching meter would be the same. spitoon
I don't have a datafile.txt. How could I restore the settings otherwise? Are you sure you don't have a datafile.txt in your /data folder? That's the only way I know of to get the more difficult pitch meter...(unless someone went to the trouble of repacking the datafile.big file to include the modified .txt). Bobolini
Dunit, wouldn't be easier to mess with the sliders first? I couldn't stand the meter to start with but as I became used to it and using adjustments it's been more realistic.

big shmooz
If you are willing to manually edit the datafile yourself to restore to the original datafile numbers, here are the actual numbers that they need to be changed to... To adjust pitch meter size of Brown & Green.... 0x739c0a96 233<batterpitcher> 34 accuracywidth 0.120 40 linespeed 0.750 50 badaccuracywidth 0.15 141 perfectaccuracygreen 255 143 Perfectaccuracyalpha 255 144 perfectaccuracysize 0.25 152 accuracygreen
turma
Or you can locate the datafile.big file (which will be placed in datadatafile - folder) from CD 1 of the game after you have deleted datafile.txt, and replace the mvp06 one with it.
