Which Data File?

Recommended Posts

I know this has been asked before, but I cannot seem to find an answer - even with 2+ hours of forum surfing.

I realize you don't like "outsiders" bothering you about what to use, but I'm a big fan of MVPmods and appreciate all of your work. I also know that you're not likely to give me the "secret" data files you use, but stranger things have happened.

If someone could send me a data file (possibly RoDData7?) with default cameras and the ability to still hit home runs, I would greatly appreciate it and do anything in my power to repay you. I tried editing a data file I saw Kamasutra talking about, supposedly adding some power to swings, but I could not locate the values he was talking about after about an hour of searching. I later got frustrated and gave up all hope.

Thank you for even considering giving me a data file. My email is kyle.young@gmail.com if possible.

Head over to the download section of this site

click on Miscellaneous ...and browse till you find some datafiles.

Then you just need to follow the directions to install em

keep at it till you find one you like

here is a link to Rrod7 w/o the swing replay for starters...since that was one you mentioned.

RRODKEY7

Once you start working with em I highly recommend you grap the combo pack that Rolie put together

It is an ALLSTAR of datafiles/views/graphical enhancements

Thanks, I'll try them out.

Also, I have another question and didn't want to make another topic...

With TotalMinorsv4, Travis Hafner has 100 power against RHPs, which I totally agree with. I don't know why, because I have the second official EA patch installed, but even when the other pitcher hangs a ball and it shows up with the location in the red zone, he rarely hits home runs. What usually happens is it goes to center field somewhere and hits off the wall. The same thing happens with Jody Gerut.

Am I swinging too late? With right handed hitters I'm fine. Hell, Ronnie Belliard knocks the ball out more often than Travis Hafner.

Thanks again for the prompt assistance.

A few things I noticed...

The file entitled "RodData_7 with Default Cams" does not have the default cameras. The camera follows the ball and makes catching the ball a pain. :(

Also, the file called "RodData4 & Kamastura Cams + No Swing Replay" - is that the one you were talking about, ez? I know Kamasutra's cameras had the "fisheye" batting view, which is a cool idea, but I just can't seem to get used to it.

I don't want to come off as demanding, I realize the mod community owes nothing to me, and I very much appreciate the fact that you've decided to release your findings to the public.

this can be changed in the datafile but it is a bit cumbersome if you are leery of unpacking the datafile and repacking it

I've tried it before and I'm pretty comfortable packing and unpacking the file. What values should I change so that RodData7 has the default cameras? And... can you tell me what to change for a few more home runs? :)

Thanks again.

I tried and I don't understand how to get it to work. All I want is the default cameras for RodData7 and I'll be satisfied.

With Rolie's, how do you get the default batting view? Maybe I didn't do something right, but the camera moves with the fly balls and I don't like trying to field them when I can't see my outfielder.

The problem seems to be there are seperate datafiles for everything, so how do I get a combination?

If possible, could someone please tell me what to change in RodData7 for the default views? And if you're really feeling generous, how do I get an extra bit of power?

the one I got together isnt really homerun compatible even on all star mode, i recommend using custom sliders to adjust your homerun attributes globally, i'm still trying to figure the best sliders settings,

iv'e been playing with my datafile and i find it quite challenging pitching and batting seems a bit of a challenge but i prefer this because it is close to real life,

as far as the cameras you want, the datafile i compiled has pretty much everyones type of batting preference, but some people dont like the POV pitching, so i included chukj45s fox pitching,

If you want you can just download rodata7 and put the views in yourself, you need a the datafile compressor and i learned from reading the camera tutorial, it just a matter of cutting and pasting,

I thought of another question and didn't want to make another topic.

Has anyone figured out how to import new ditty music for when the batter walks up to the play? If so, I'd be interested in making a ditty pack.

Bless you! I'm now completely satisfied.

In regards to the ditty music, why do they have a ditty importer then? :(

The ditty importer works for other EA games as well such as NHL2004

You can use it in MVP to import ditties as your menu songs.

You just cant (as of yet) crack the walkup and between inning music

Glad you got your views workin
